Lovely discovery
Just needed a night away from the city so booked into this hostel based on other reviews about its peaceful location. What a lovely place! The short walk from Harlow station is charming, past several very old cottages to a picture postcard crossroads where you find the hostel. There is a cosy lounge with plenty of reading material, a big kitchen for cooking (or, if you prefer, good value microwave meals sold by the hostel) and dining room with books for adults and children. The bedrooms are spotlessly clean with laundered linen provided. There is also a lovely garden with picnic tables and mature trees. For exploring Harlow or indeed the West of Essex, you couldn't find a better hostel, and of course you are only half an hour from London by train.
Hidden gem
I stayed here for 1 night, the gentleman owner was very pleasant and kind,he even gave me a late checkout for no extra cost! Something you don’t get with many places My room was clean and comfortable and I had a good nights sleep I highly recommend this place for somewhere to stay on a budget Thankyou
I have been commuting to work from my room on and off when needed...
Family run Hostel, very good, all very valuable staff. Beds and mattresses are very comfortable, rooms and toilets are clean and comfortable. You can cook food if you want and on request food will be prepared and served for you, which is very good balanced diet... thank you for that...
Meditation Class
We hired the whole hostel out for a meditation retreat, staff approach very friendly and helpful when we checked in until the last day when we left. I managed to forget my luggage at the hostel and the owner kindly sent my luggage across the country, it's something that I think I need to share .
English style hostel
Stayed for 5 nights. The staff was very helpful and very kind with the children. The room was comfortable and the common bathroom clean. I liked the building that is a typical English house, with a nice garden. There is a beautiful playground for kids in a park 5 minutes walk, and a farm with animals not far from the hostel (no smell, no flies, just beautiful countryside!). It is confortable and cheap if you want to visit London. We bought a Travel-card after 9.30 am, because it was cheaper, and traveled back and forth using trains (till Liverpool Street, London) and then underground.
