Brilliant hosts, superb food
We camped down the road and came here for dinner, loved it so much we booked lunch the next day! The owners are lovely, and they could do with the support having only just re-done the place. Chef knew his food and both our meals were delicious.
Best meal ever in North Devon in 45 years
Fabulous lamb the best I have ever had in my 45 years in north Devon. Vegan burger so unique. Liam is the best chef. Anchor Inn has come such a long way under the ownership of Ann and Fif. Please support them xx
Holiday eat out
Very friendly and helpful. Excellent food at a good price. I have visited this place over the summer when on holiday and have recommended to others who also enjoy the visit. Everywhere very clean and plenty of sanitizer in strategic areas.
Evening out
We decided to try the Anchor as it had been recommended by a friend. Our sister in law was visiting so we booked a table, this us our first trip to a pub since lockdown. Arrived and waited to be seated, very spacious pub. There were only one other table occupied when we got there, but filled during evening. Ordered drinks, perused menu, starter options and mains, with a specials board too. We ordered, one salmon, one risotto and 2 beef stroganof and 2 portion of chips. Very nicely presented and very tasty we all were impressed with our meals, very filling and delicious. Even so we made room for a pudding. Again good selection to choose from, we went chocolate fudge cake, choc pot, brioche strudel and ice cream. Excellent. Prices were good, didnt see total bill as sister in law paid but estimated about £85? Which at 20 a head is what you would expect to pay. Very friendly staff, a very relaxing evening. Glad we went will definitely go again. I thoroughly recommend.
Dinner
Came across this friendly pub by chance but was pleasantly surprised by quality of food, had 3 dinners there and the food was very tasty. Friendly hosts as well. Would definitely come back when in Devon next time xxx
