Awesome place.
Very nice place to stay in wonderful Upstate NY. Great location, nice building, comfortable and clean rooms. Professional and friendly personnel. Not far from great outdoor activities in Adirondack area.
Clean, friendly
Speedy check in, clean room, hotel. We stayed at this hotel to take the kids swimming at the indoor pool. The pool is nice, heated. Only downfall is that the hot tub was out of order. Due to covid it is 10 person limit in the pool area
Not bad during Covid
A nice clean hotel in a great location, with a supermarket, liquor store, McDonalds, subway and other stores including Dollar general that are a few feet away and you can walk to. There was no maid service due to covid which wasnt great and you can reserve the pool for 45 mins to yourself. The breakfast is a grab and go you choose from 4 items along with coffee or tea, you pretty much have to eat in your room. The hotel has a great breakfast area when it's not during covid. It's about 3 miles from The Hall of Fame. oh the walls are very thin, which made things a bit loud! But a nice place ...during Covid!
Great place to stay
We did not have a reservation when we got to Cooperstown. Saw the Best Western on line and it was given a good rating, So we decided to stay here. The clerk was very courteous. We were given the senior discount for the room. You are located by Pizza Hut and McDonalds. Plus a grocery store and a Dollar General, Unfortunately the Pizza Hut was closed due to the pandemic. So we drove back to town which is 3 miles away. We were hungry for pizza. The New York Pizza place on Chestnut St was very good. The room was very nice. The next morning they provided you with a very nice breakfast in a bag. The hostess was very nice with letting you pick out what items you wanted in your bag. The whole hotel was very clean and everyone worn a mask as required.
Poorly run hotel
Me and my family stayed at the Best Western Cooperstown for Columbus Day weekend 2020. We've been to Cooperstown many times before but since this was the year of Covid, many hotels/inns were not open or were booked for the weekend (for a frame of reference we have stayed at the Otesaga hotel and different inns around the town). The hotel looks decent and they seem to have done some recent renovations. My issue is that I booked a King suite room online directly through their website and when I got there, the front desk clerk told me they don't offer that type of room. They were going to give me a standard room but still charge me the King suite price (and additional $200). The front desk clerk was rude and unprofessional when I asked for this to be rectified. She eventually made adjustments to my price but did it while letting me know that I was being a burden to her because she had many other things to do at that moment. Fast forward, we end up checking out the next day and not staying for our full reservation. We didn't like the hotel, there were bugs in our room, and it wasn't making for a nice trip for my family. Upon checking my bank statement, they charged me the FULL price for my original reservation. When I called Best Western customer service they too were rude and unprofessional. After a very frustrating conversation, my rate is being adjusted but I just can't understand how a company can allow their employees to treat customers the way they do. I will not be staying at a Best Western property again, and specifically the one in Cooperstown NY.
