Disappointing stay
Reviewed 17 may, 2022
We were placed in a room that was right next to the staircase. There was no soundproofing between the stairs and the room, so we heard people coming up and down the stairs with their luggage late in the evening/night and in the early morning (from around 7am). This was incredibly loud and bothersome and when we complained to the front desk we were told that they had never had anyone complain before. The bed was also very uncomfortable and clearly old as it dipped in the middle and was lumpy.

Our hotel was very close to the purpose of our visit to visit Carr Taylor vineyard. Overall the stay was satisfactory. There were a couple of requests to Recepton but these were not carried out during our stay.

Weekend stay - room smelt drains then we told room was supposed to be out of commission after we’d spent the two nights in there. Staff good except disinterested late evening male on reception who when asked about cars in disabled parking bays told us he gave permission for two members of staff to park there as they were awaiting operations “and they haven’t got blue badges” - we wheelchair users. Also requested baths in rooms and yet only one room out of four ( booked last summer) actually had a bath ! Need to get new management as not any where need premier inn standard.

Awful..do not stay in Room 123..access is horrendous & a definite fire risk with a sealed window. No emergency button or telephone if you have a problem & so far away from reception you are on your own! Will definitely NOT be returning 😤

Having come from France to visit relatives, we stayed at this hotel for four nights, from Friday to Tuesday, on May Bank Holiday weekend. Unfortunately, the room was not cleaned once. When we asked a cleaner in the corridor for some fresh towels on the Monday, we were told that since Covid the rooms are not cleaned everyday (?!). However, my relatives stayed for ten nights in Premier Inn hotels around England last summer and their room was cleaned everyday. We had no soap left, the coffee tray was never replenished, the towels were wet and the bins were not emptied for the whole four days and we had children with us. This is unacceptable. This is highly disappointing, as we paid nearly £352 for four nights in a basic hotel that could not even provide a basic room care. We do not “buy” the Covid excuse, unless they were lacking personnel, in which case we should have been warned and a rebate should have been offered to us.
