Never again
I am okay with budget hotels. I don’t have to have 5000 thread county sheets or special shower heads when I am traveling to a small town in south GA. I don’t expect it, and am not surprised or upset when a hotel is just the basics. However, there are two factors that will always always cause me to never return. First, if I see an traces of bugs you can forget about it-I am out. Fortunately I did not detect any traces. The second is cleanliness. This hotel has black mold on their shower curtain and on the wall above the shower. Right there made me decide that first I will ever stay here again , and two to submit a negative review-which is another something I try to avoid. I advise that if you book this hotel , when you arrive go straight to the shower and make sure it’s mold free. I reported it to management so I hope they do something about it. Side note, I was surprised to discover there are still smoking rooms in GA (thought those had gone long ago). I can’t fault the hotel on this as I didn’t note it when I booked-that’s on me. However-make sure you check if you decide to book and want a non smoking room.
Could be better
We stayed for a week from July 5-13. It was a Best Western. I don't know when it was taken over by the current people (Indians). The linens were not up to par. Upon arriving there were wash clothes and towels stained with old make up that didn't come out in the wash. Plus stingy with them. The old Best Western towels were good but the others were thin, stained and from Pakistan. That was the first turn off. Second were the bed sheets. I don't know where those came from. They were old and of a color. Very, very very faded pink and green. Also we did not get a change for the whole seven days. Small pillows. I never saw anyone at the front desk other than when I rang to check in. The TV didn't have HD. The breakfast was a farce. Stale bread, the bacon was so thin you could read the paper through it. No yogert or fruit. Waffles or boiled eggs. We ate once, looked the second day and went to Hubble House for the rest of our stay. Our room was 105 and recently updated so it looked new and clean. I give this place a year and it will be just as run down as others run by the people from India, that seem to have the monopoly on motels these days.
Disappointed -monopoly of the trade!
I've been having to travel to this town a lot over the last 5 yrs. & Now its monthly. I have never had their breakfast, although my spouse says it is sparse. The rooms are always clean & the beds comfy. They usually try to accommodate my special needs. I will say that they have changed their name from Best Western to Peach State recently. The interior needs an update and the sheets are becoming threadbare. I am assuming this may have cost them their Best Western status. I am disappointed that they feel no loyalty to me as often as I have stayed with them. I find it hard to believe that there have been 2 or 3 instances where I have been told there were no rooms available when I called 3 or 4 days in advance. It is hard for me to conceive that there is that much going on in this little town, EVER, unless it is the harness races, but when I asked about that weekend ,I was told they were not very busy then. The staff is not very friendly, but maybe that is their culture, I do not know. My father has been in the process of dying for the last 5 Years and I have had to travel back and forth and stay in this Motel during this time period. I have stayed at every other Motel in town and this one is by far the best one. It is definitely the most clean and well maintained. However, I see that there are rooms available online when I have been told there were none available when I directly call the motel. I always tried to call directly b/c I require special accommodations due to health issues. I'm not supposed to lift > 5 pounds and usually ask for the handicapped room. I have been disappointed that no one has ever offered to assist me with my luggage and I am a disabled female that qualifies as a Sr.citizen. I recently had to stay in a nearby town , when this motel told me they were booked up . that motel or was much cleaner & nicer for the same price. What struck me the most was the New motel seemed very happy to see me and I have never stayed there b4. It was late at night when I arrived and the out of town/New motel offered to unload all my luggage and also load it when I got ready to leave & refused to let me do it myself. I guess that's what made me think about how unwelcome I have been made to feel at this Motel after having stayed there so many times. When my father died, I don't think they even expressed their condolences. It would just seem that SINCE I'm such a regular customer I shud qualify for some type of preferential booking, if there is any room available in the motel. I belong to numerous travel Club memberships and these clubs always offer me loyalty rewards for repeatedly staying with them. Maybe I'm wrong about that, but loyalty goes a long way w/me and if I had another choice, I would probably stay somewhere else just because I feel slighted by not being given ANY PREFERENTIAL BOOKING TREATMENT, WHEN I'M ATTEMPTING to stay here at least monthly for several days each visit. To me returning customers should be given some type of preferential treatment when it comes to booking rooms. I guess you can do what you want when you have the Monopoly of the trade. This week I'm having to say in another town when I called 4 days ahead for a reservation. That is terribly inconvenient and I am disappointed, especially after I see there r online rooms available on EVERY ONLINE BOOKING SITE ! IF I cud b assured a ground level room through them, I would've booked online .
Best motel in Hawkinsville
I have stayed here several times. I have also stayed at other motels in area, this one is the best in cleanliness and service. Sometimes they are busy cleaning and take longer to get check-in or check-out. This motel is ran by a family and not by a large staff, but I have always found my room/ rooms clean. The outside is always well maintained.
Go somewhere else
Yuck, yuck, yuck I opened my door and a terrible stinch nearly had me throwing up. It was awful. The room was nice looking but that smell. The shower had mold and hair all the way around the top. There was a dirty washcloth hanging from the the shower curtain rod. I should have stayed in Eastman.
