Staff is great!

Home2Suites has a helpful, friendly staff particularly front desk and breakfast. Rooms are large, clean and well appointed. Lots of restaurants and stores close to hotel. Breakfast choices are good. Not quite reaching outstanding level, but definitely very good.
Great for short or long term stay - FANTASTIC staff!

We did a few weekend and long term stays over several weeks and the staff was amazing. From a smile, kind word or remembering our preferences from visit to visit - they were always helpful at a moments notice.

We are Hilton Honors members and have stayed at Homes Suites multiple times with no problems- until now.. Several reasons for our one-star review, but here is our experience at this Henrietta, NY location: a) Reservations (via Hilton's 800 revervations number - the only one we found on the Home2 Suites Henrietta web site ) charged us $155 for (as we found out after the fact) a $95 room. b) The carpet in the room was totally dirty and stained in multiple places. Looks like there had been urine and feces on it, and it was never cleaned. c) When we booked via the Hilton reservation line, we asked if the hotel was pet friendly. We were told, "Yes, absolutely, sir." Only when we arrived (as two senior citizens, at 7 pm, in the dark, after 480 miles of driving, and in the pouring rain) were we told, "Oh, by the way, there is a $150 nonrefundable 'dog fee' " - a cost that doubled the already inflated rate. Despite our never. ever having been told about this excessive fee (for a hypoallergenic dog) while making the reservation, the desk clerk wouldn't budge, and refused to call her manager about it either. Faced with no other pet friendly hotels within 30 miles, very tired, unable to see the road well in the rain, and with not too many other choices, we resorted to calling Hilton's main Customer Service line, where an extremely helpful agent spent 45 minutes making in-company calls for us, finally reaching the manager of the facility, who still refused to waive the pet fee. (Eventually she did offer to lower it to $75). The final resolution only came when the agent figured out how to "comp" the room (but we still had to pay the pet fee). After unpacking, we felt compelled to have the desk clerk examine our carpet, so that we would not be charged a damages fee (which we also had to leave on our credit card until post checkout.) We found the carpet "gross" - can't figure out why they charge this pet fee if they don't actually use it to clean the rooms. All told, we left this Home2 Suites feeling that we were treated with a lack of reasonableness, hospitality, and common sense. Traveler beware. We would never stay at this location again.
My Stay at the Home2Suites Rochester/Henrietta
Reviewed 13 october, 2021
The wife and I traveled up to the Rochester, NY area to help out her sister buy a newer car. We had stayed at the Home2Suites in Henrietta before, and it was really pleasant, so we returned. I will start with the staff, the desk clerks, and the other staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. However, they didn't recognize that I was a Gold Honors Member. So I had to ask for the complimentary water. My wife has limited mobility, so we asked for the handicapped room and was given one right by the elevator, which was quite convenient. The room wasn't that great, though. Compared to our last visit, it wasn't very pleasant. For one thing, the carpet was stained. This hotel was animal-friendly, so my theory is that those stains could have come from a dog. Yeah, I know, nasty. On the other hand, they had dog treats. I am a dog person so I found that nice. The room comes with a nearly full kitchen except for a stove or hotplate, and you can request a hotplate. This hotel is great for long-term stays, not the room we had, though. The room was well equipped with outlets, including two USB outlets in the desk area. I use a CPAP, and there was an outlet at the night table to accommodate it. The bed was on the soft side for my taste, but I had a restful sleep, as did my wife. The sheets had a tough time staying on the mattress, but I made it work. They comp the breakfast, which is pretty simple, fruit, muffins, microwavable sandwiches, waffle batter, boiled eggs, and juice. Adequate for a younger palette, but I made do with the boiled eggs, muffins, and milk. I don't have any complaints about the breakfast, and the dining area was clean. The bathroom was poorly equipped for the handicapped room. There weren't any handrails around the toilet, but I loved shampoo and body wash dispensers. The water pressure can be better, too. The hotel appeared to be a work in progress—many repairs going on, which is a good thing but annoying for you trying to get around. Overall it was a good stay, but there were a few disappointments.
Overall it was a great stay

Came for a wedding, so didn’t spend much time in the room. But the room was spacious, beds were comfortable, blackout curtain was fantastic. The kitchen area and the crazy amount of storage was great if we had been staying longer. The breakfast was good. They had a decent tea selection, so that was a big plus for me. The only real negative we found was that when the bathroom fan was run, it smelled like stale cigarettes and the bathroom door (a pocket door) was heavy so little kids might have a hard time with it. The room itself did not smell, it was only when the fan was on. But otherwise, no complaints, I’d stay again and recommend it to friends. It is also close to great restaurants and lots of stores for anything you might need.
