Amazing hotel

This hotel is perfect. A glass of Prosecco on arrival, very smooth check in with lovely staff. The room was lovely with a big very soft comfy bed. Shower was amazing. The breakfast was brilliant, loads of choice very nice food. The location of this hotel was fabulous, a short walk across the promanade to a white sandy beach. Everything about the hotel was perfect. I am planning to return next year .

Comfortable place next to the beach

Good location and comfortable hotel with spacey rooms (we had a room 105: downstairs and without any view - nothing else was available). Nice breakfast. Fantastic offer: as the parking place is 350 m from the hotel, the staff parks the car for you! We appreciated it a lot as we arrived late at night when it was dark and difficult to find the way. Strange thing: restaurant closes already at 21.00 (quite early) and there is no bar available at the hotel. Few people speak English here but the staff at the hotel and restaurant managed to communicate. I would come back though it is a litt bit pricey!

There are some advantages to the Upstalsboom in Heringsdorf. It is very close to the beach, the rooms are spacious, the furniture are ok, and their spa has recently been given a makeover: very clean and enough space for the many guests who like to spend their Saturday afternoon not on the beach but near the indoor pool or in the sauna. However, there is little or nothing favorable to be said about the restaurant. The breakfast service is understaffed, and we waited 10 minutes for our coffee on the first morning of our stay and 15 minutes on the second. Moreover, the service personnel did not seem very well coordinated. Eating at the hotel restaurant "Theo" in the evening is definitely a mistake. We booked a table for 6.30 pm, because we wanted to see a film on TV at 8.15. At 6.45, we were still waiting for the waitress to take our orders; at the 6.55 we were served our first glass of wine; starters came at 7.20; and entrées were served only at 7.50 after we had asked for them twice and had to be eaten in a hurry. The waitress seemed annoyed by our reminders, and it her took another 15 minutes to bring us the bill, so we missed the first ten minutes of our film. Moreover, the food was less than average. Part of the salad came out of tins; I had a 'fish soup' with hardly any fish; the risotto was dry and re-heated, and the fish was overcooked. When I spoke to the hotel manager the next morning his reply was that the problem was obviously in my expectations.(Yes, I do expect good service and decent food at a restaurant when I pay for it.)

Fab hotel only metres from the beach

Amazing location right on the beautiful promenade, super friendly staff, gorgeous food and tasteful interior. I guess with room no.19 we had the room with the worst view (ground floor looking at the bicycle shed) but for only two nights that didn't matter (and for that this room was a bit cheaper than the other rooms). Can highly recommend this hotel and would most definitely return when next time in the area! Thumbs up for the management and staff there!

Schönes Hotel mit Top-Restaurant

Liebes Team vom Upstalsboom - Hotel Ostseestrand, nach coronabedintgem Fernbleiben waren wir nun endlich seit langem mal wieder für ein paar Tage im Upstalsboom. Wir hatten uns sehr auf unseren Aufenthalt gefreut und wurden nicht enttäuscht. Das Frühstücksbuffet war so vielseitig, reichhaltig und lecker wie wir es in Erinnerung hatten. Für einen Abend hatten wir ein Candle-Light Dinner gebucht und die anderen Abende haben wir a la Carte gegessen. Die Tischdekoration für das Candle-Light-Dinner sah toll aus. Das Essen im Restaurant Theos und im Bistro könne wir wirklich empfehlen. Es hat sehr gut geschmeckt! Ein großes Lob an das gesamte Küchenteam. Das ganze Personal (Rezeption, Servicekräfte im Restaurant, Reinigungspersonal) im Hotel ist ausgesprochen freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und können das Hotel sowie das Restaurant und das Bistro nur weiterempfehlen. Vielen Dank! Wir wünschen Ihnen und Ihren Mitarbeitern alles Gute!
