Disappointing
Reading other reviews I can only assume that something has changed. The 3 bedroom accommodation was musty, dusty, and everything ( towels, bedding, cutlery, crockery, furniture ) looked as if it was picked up at a junk shop. Whole place needed a damn good clean, spiderwebs, dust and just generally grubby. Ant infestation was awful. Such a shame as it has the potential to be a great place to stay with some TLC and attention to detail. Good location with nice view to the sea. The bed was comfy, and the homemade bread was a nice touch to an otherwise basic breakfast. Didn’t fancy the Vegemite from a jar that had clearly been topped up and was sticky with Vegemite all around the outside of the top of the jar. Didn’t touch the cereals as wondered whether ants would have got in there. Maybe invest in some new towels, cutlery, bedding, and give the place a spruce up so it doesn’t seem like someone has just shifted out temporarily so that a few bucks can be made from an empty house. Because that’s how it felt.
Lovely quaint cottage
Marilyn is a lovely hostess, with plenty of local knowledge to give you on where to go and the surrounds. Homemade bread and jams for breakfast. The gardens are so peaceful and full of birds and flowers. On the hill with sea views. Three bedrooms and plenty of space.
Just like home!!
We stayed one night but wished we could have stayed another night. Set in the hills behind Burnie. Overlooks the ocean, beautiful gardens and facilities were excellent. Homemade blueberry jam and homemade bread. Highly recommend this place.
Country comfort
Charming little self-contained apartment. One of two joined by a common room. We were met by Marilyn (the owner) on arrival. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome, quality fresh eggs, juice bread and home made marmalade. Wood combustion fire - already lit on our arrival and plenty of wood to see you through a month. Everything needed for a relaxing comfortable stay.
Fabulous
We were met by Marilyn and on a rainy afternoon having the fireplace already going was very welcoming. Older but Spacious, clean and well appointed. Fresh eggs for breakfast were delicious. Couldn’t fault it.
