Booked through Airbnb. I expected the size of the room, which was fine. The view was pretty much the only thing good about this room. The shower curtain was dirty. The shower walls and ceiling had black mildew. I honestly wish I would’ve bought some Clorox bleach spray with me. This place was a old Mall-Tel. The bottom part of the hotel was an abandoned mall. Elevators and our floor smelled like old cigs and dirt. Only 2/3 elevators were working. There was also a lot of homeless people outside. Parking in the structure was $28/day. I would not stay here again.

Pro- good location by the beach and boardwalk. Pool is pretty nice. Cons- very old, outdated and creepy. The lobby is a vacant mall. Everything seems dark and deserted. Our room was updated but very tiny. View was terrible. 3 locks on our door, only ONE worked & it was chintzy. The owner of our room didn’t think this was a big deal? ! I felt very unsafe here. Stayed one night and canceled the rest of the week. A Local said it’s home of drug dealers, and prostitution. The smell was weed mixed with musty odor in elevators and hallway. I would never stay here again. Definitely not family friendly.

I wish I could give zero stars. The place from the outside is completely run down. Such false advertising in the Airbnb description. Smells HORRIBLE, dirty, unsafe. My boyfriend actually slept with a knife on our nightstand because it was that scary. Smell of cigarettes coming from the the rooms. The second you hit the elevator it smells like absolute death. I have stayed in many many hotels, good and bad. This was hands down the worst. I didn’t sleep for 3 days because I would here people in the hallways, I even heard my door handle as if someone was trying to get in. Bars and restaurants on the strip all had under a 2.5 star rating. I wish I did more research because this was the biggest waste of money ever. This hotel should be demolished, that’s how nasty it is.
I was there May 2003!!!

I cannot believe you have not changed at all in 15 years and you never have the intention to do so. Shame on you. Seriously. The empty creepy mall has been that way since I visited in 2003. The rooms stunck like raw sewage. Second one was only mildly moldy. Hallways as if original from 1920s with barely any changes. Crap pool. Sand was like that of New England where we live. Gritty and uncomfortable. There were tractors on the beach doing construction. I thought for sure the Margaritaville took over. It absolutely blows my mind that you’re still the same nasty people that were there 15 years ago. You disgust me. BEWARE OF ADDS WITHOUT MORE PICTURES.
Not too bad

We booked thru booking.com and it was thru an individual or at least separate from the property. The property is fairly nice, it is dated because it is old. The empty shops in the bottom which is like a mall, is a little creepy. Wish someone was filling up the spaces. Check in was ok, clerk was a little hard to understand and there were several people in line. Only one girl working, she could have used some help. She gave us a key then told us we couldn't check in bc check in wasn't until 4,( so why would you give someone a key to a room which might still be occupied???) which we knew, but the property owner said to text when we got there and he would see if we could get in early. He did call me back, but thought we were in a different room and someone was checking and would let me know. That didn't happen. i also texted to ask if we had the correct room and key. No response. a little disappointing that you couldn't be bothered to text or call back. Room was decent, no trash bags tho and a very small can. Room was clean and very basic. Suited our needs fine as we were only staying 3 days. The pool and hot tub very disappointing. Hot tub not working at all, and the pool looked like it was at least a foot short on water. the pool area tho was clean. could use some new chairs and paint a few plants and it would make a great improvement. The outdoor bar out front (Grumpy Gary's) was great we ended up there every evening. The food was good and the live music was great as well as the other music, songs we knew. The boardwalk is right in front and was very nice only thing is at night it wasn't very brightly lit. With several shops closed or nothing in them just the lamp lights made the board walk a little creepy of course it was really windy and raining too which didn't help. Although we felt safe, two single women, we didn't venture far. Some of the horrible reviews makes me think all the rooms must be different, while it isn't a five star resort it wasn't bad. We were there for the beach, not the room. There are NO beach towels as it says, and there are no beach chairs to rent on the beach.
