Pearl Hotel Waikiki 8/12 - 8/19 Booked a suite through our timeshare but got a standard room, forced to pay extra $600 for the stay with a suite. Let's get in the room situation: was not resort like (paid additional $245 upon arrival for maintenance fee) was told it was for the vending machines with refreshments and drinks also the beach towels and chairs that were sports event style folding chairs (PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS OF THE REFRESHMENTS) Anyway, we paid and waited for the room to become available, was told they were cleaning the carpet. When we got in, it didn't smell clean. The photos for this place will tell you that it needs work. The website photos are brights and inviting...the space was clean in the company photos. The suite included kitchen...two microwaves the white one smelled bad. The refrigerator was rusted, barely shut tight, cracks in the seal and look like mold in the trim/seal. The bathroom tub had mold. Let's talk about the AC unit in the bedroom, LOUD AF!! had to cool the room off before going to sleep so I could shut it off while sleep. It was only cool, never reached cold. The unit in the front room, was not blowing cold at all. Then we found a switch on the wall that activated the cool air. About these double beds, no comforter only a top sheet and light blanket. I went to Walmart last minute (another situation review coming). Got the following items: bleach cleaner, sofa slip cover, 2 yards of materials, 4 candles, lighter, and air freshener, gloves and a few prayers to make it thru this hotel stay. So I cleaned our own room, due to COVID they only cleaned on day. We only had 1 trash can and that was in the bathroom. Oh also, you will smell the people smoking if they are standing outside your room. The was a gap around the door. Oh wait before I forget they told us they flex the rates depending on how busy the area is at that time. Considering this spot was in the thick of it all....but we made the best of it. The bar was next door, there was a Poke Bowl spot on the other side (line was always long). This is crazy as hell type of stay but we live and learned, enjoyed the locals and events. Only 2 elevators one broke and it is smaller than a small apartment closet. The staff was helpful for the things to do. No pool, no fitness facilities, Google has it listed with Playstation consoles, bar on-site and deli. Please the bar was not in the hotel but next door same as the deli. Please note the website appear as it is beach front, the beach is 2-3blocks away. And the Canal that isn't suitable for swimming in at the end of the block. This place is a fraud and rip off. I could go on and on. Just don't do it!!!!! Positive feedback, we were staying where they filmed Magnum P.I during the day.

I guess it was average if I wanted to lower the bar. The air conditioner could barely keep up. The smoke alarm went off. Security came and told us if we would take off the cover and blow in it it might work 😳😳. We did and it stopped. Freaking scary. Maintenance didn’t come bc they weren’t there. Internet was slow if at all. Absolutely no chairs to sit in except a small desk chair. Unfortunately with Covid, most restaurants were not utilizing their dine in option so we spent most of our nights eating take out sitting in bed! Not how I wanted to spend my 30 year anniversary vacation. No concierge. No pool. No hot tub. Not happy.
Perfect for my needs!

After reading some reviews I was a bit wary of staying at the Pearl Hotel Waikiki. But got a great rate, booked it and took a chance. First off, parking, not a huge lot but if you reserve parking ahead of time you'll get a spot on property and if not they let you park at Hyatt Centric's lot for a reduced fee and a 2 min walk. My room was on 10th floor, surprisingly spacious with a huge lanai (7' x 14') and remarkably clean (I bring a UV light and it didn't pick up anything) . The beds had new looking linen tucked tight enough to bounce a quarter off them. Considering Hawaii is at max capacity and most places are under-staffed they did an amazing job, friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. The icing on the cake is the million $ location, it won't be long til inexpensive little gems like this no longer exist in Waikiki so enjoy it while you can, I'll be back soon.

Stayed at Pearl Hotel Waikiki. Was scheduled for three (3) nights but we could barely stay for one night!! We used our Time Share points to stay!! It is Very Old, Outdated, Dirty Carpet, Unsecure, Unsafe, Dingy Dim Lighting. It’s a real Hole in the wall, Noisy from street Sounds!! Needs total overhaul!! Not, Recommended! Repeat, Not Recommended!!

We were two couples, one member of which was on a first visit to Hawaii, all 60+. We arrived mid-May and stayed a week. My husband Victor and I have stayed at the Pearl many times since '99. The Pearl's calling card is its location, but it offers so much Aloha for a very reasonable rate. Much of Waikiki has changed in the time since we began regular visits, but the Pearl remains always welcoming, staffed with helpful people who treat us as if we are their beloved parents. In particular I want to commend Jeffrey Helsen, who has welcomed me and my friends during my last three visits. Jeffrey got us checked in quickly, helped us store and then get bags moved, guided us to a great local bar and new restaurants, used our names as we came and went (not merely a politeness but also an appreciated safety habit) and in all ways went above and beyond. I cannot say enough about his kindness and professionalism. He was particularly patient with my husband. Covid protocols were followed consistently. Our room was more than adequate and our requests fulfilled. I hope the Pearl takes good care of good people like Jeff, they are gems.
