Great location and views!

They've made improvements to some services and the pool area since my last visit 2 years ago. Loved the "Beach Candy" area to get chairs, boogie boards, and paddle boards! Great addition. The gym is adequate if you need to work out inside. The rooms and hallways could use a decor/paint/carpet/art refresh in the near future. You can't beat the beachfront location and views of Diamond Head - great for this value/cost compared to the other oceanfront properties.

This is the perfect place to stay. The location is where it is all at! The balcony beach view is breathtaking and unforgettable. The hotel is clean and all personnel is knowledgeable and courteous. I took my family of seven and we all loved the Hotel, Hotel Store, Restaurant, and Pool.
When were these pictures taken? 2001?

I called to upgrade my room because I booked through Expedia and decided I wanted an oceanfront room. I called twice. Once for the actual upgrade and two days before the trip and confirmed the reservation. We arrived 12/24 only to be told there was no reservation and I only selected ocean view. After a staring contest, I was told we could move into the oceanfront room after our third night and they would waive the upgrade fees….only after showing proof of my phone calls and the dates and times I called. We went to the ocean view room and although the view was nice the room was SEVERELY outdated. Literally everything in the bathroom was rusted and there was no housekeeping until the day we moved rooms. After the third day, we moved to the new room and when I tell you my mouth fell open…. The view was incredible… and that’s it. It felt like someone said “we need to update this room but let’s just paint over everything. The tv didn’t work. I called the front desk and received a new remote but after first use, it conked out too. Feel free to view the pictures I’ve taken. I will never book here again. The pictures on the website are nothing like the actual room. If I paid the upgrade fee I’d be disgusted. One positive is the front desk staff was nice and Tiki’s Grill was fantastic. Book at your own risk. :/
Not the Premier Experience we Were Expecting

No welcome when you arrive... gotta' figure out where to check-in (a floor up the hidden escalator) no signage. Room not consistently stocked - ran out of toilet paper twice. No comfortable chairs in room. Uncomfortable mattress. Balcony door was broken - could not lock it. Staff member entered our room without knocking when we were in it. Pool amenities were closed even though hotel was busy. No room service (probably COVID related so I can forgive that) Pretty disappointing for a $600+ a night room :(
Great location but rooms need to be modernized and refurbished

This hotel's best feature is its wonderful location near the zoo and facing Kuhio Beach. Front desk and housekeeping staff were courteous and efficient. However, the hotel looks tired and needs a modern upgrade in its rooms. We had an ocean view room but it was smaller and poorly furnished compared to other premium Waikiki hotels we have stayed over the past 30+ years. Room was on a lower floor which made it noisy because of the music from the Tiki Bar & Grill. Plus the food smell can be troublesome. Old and sparse furniture, there was a fridge but no microwave. No chair or desk. Storage in chest of drawers was inadequate for two people especially for a stay of more than a week. Bathroom needs upgrading, noisy toilet, tiles were cracked and looked dirty. Balcony/lanai was small (about 4-ft diameter semicircle) with 2 uncomfortable chairs and a sliding door which was very difficult to operate. Housekeeping in rooms on alternate days. Hallways did not appear to be vacuumed during our entire week-plus stay. Hotel certainly not deserving its 3/4-star rating on various websites.
