The hotel itself is absolutely stunning however my intent for giving this hotel a 5 star review was because of the staff.Roxanne in guest services is absolutely wonderful. She was so welcoming & went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable. Samuel at the beach bar remembered us daily and had the same smile and positive attitude without fail. Everyone made us feel as if we are part of their family.

The Moana Surfrider is an iconic hotel in Waikiki. The grand entrance is breathtaking and makes you feel like you're a part of history. The staff at check-in were friendly and the process went quickly. We stayed in the tower portion of the hotel with a partial ocean view. There was nothing overwhelmingly spectacular about the room but it was clean and the patio was a wonderful addition. The hotel is centrally located in Waikiki making it easy to get around on foot. We enjoyed our stay at Moana Surfrider and would consider returning in the future.
Outstanding Waikiki Hotel!

The Moana is perfectly located with direct access to beautiful Waikiki Beach and it is situated in the heart of Waikiki with access to countless restaurants and activities. My husband and I stayed in a stunning ocean view suite. It was spacious and very clean. The view of the Pacific Ocean and Diamond Head was phenomenal! We could even see sea turtles in the water below from our lanai. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. We were grateful that they took COVID protocols seriously with disinfectant cleaning practices, requiring masks while inside and requiring guests to show proof of vaccinations and complete a contact tracing survey in the restaurants on the property. It was really easy and streamlined. They have beach chairs and umbrellas for rent and also provide beach towels to guests. We were so impressed with every aspect of this property and will definitely return in the future! Mahalo Moana Surfrider!!
A Beautiful Stay

This was my first visit to Waikiki as a solo female traveler and I felt very safe at the Moana Surfrider. It enjoys a superb location directly on one of the softest sand beaches along Waikiki and fronts the main shopping street for all those daily necessities and things you didn’t know you needed. Many restaurants, eateries, bars & snacks are within a short walk. Each hotel staff member I encountered was friendly, welcoming and seemed genuinely pleased to have me as a guest. I chose an oceanfront room in the Diamond building-the part of the hotel nearest to Diamond Head. The original hotel is in the center and the Tower rooms (which seem to be the most popular) are closer to the next hotel-the Outrigger. The Tower has larger balconies to sit outside, Diamond rooms have small “Juliet” balconies (no outside furniture) and the original building has no balconies. My Diamond room came with 2 wood rocking chairs in the room, facing the sliding glass door to the balcony. I enjoyed watching the surfers each day. Best part of this room, besides the ocean view, was the sound of the ocean crashing onto the shore as I fell asleep each night even though the glass doors were closed. My least favorite part was I could also on occasion hear my neighbors in their room. I was able to rent an umbrella with 2 lounge chairs twice during my stay. These were in high demand as many families checked into the hotel for Thanksgiving week, and can be reserved 24 hrs in advance. Cost was $75 for the day (7 am-5:30pm). Cabanas cost $150/day, also requiring reservations. Poolside loungers were all claimed very early in the morning, on a first come basis. Food & beverage service is available. Dinner at The Veranda restaurant was a treat-a $97 set price meal with 3 courses, under the banyan tree. White tablecloths, expert service, ocean view & the food was delicious. Breakfast & weekend High Tea also served there. Also under the banyan tree is the more casual (wear your bathing suit) Beach Bar. Find yourself a table, same ocean view, live music starting around 5, good service, good food. Looked as if some folks were spending the day there. I observed Covid-19 protocols being followed, masks required indoors.

The whole experience at his hotel was great. The building is beatiful and fancy. The inhouse restaurants have great food and drinks, but are a little pricy and crowded (as you can expect in Waikiki). The room was spacious, clean and had a good view. Little noisy though (street side). You could not ask for a better location in Waikiki. You can find a bunch of restaurants and shops in walking distance. Great and helpful staff. JUST GREAT!
