Sunday Roast

Reviewed 15 november, 2021

Tasty Sunday roast, 3 choices Beef, Chicken, Pork, nice selection of vegetables, and crispy roast potatoes, and Guinness gravy, good portion size, staff very friendly pub clean , tidy and friendly with a good selection of drinks and if you like your Ales, you won't be disappointed, they have a good selection, with guest Ales, would recommend this pub for Sunday roast or the Thai food during the week, will be back

Friendly, busy, fun stay with exceptional Thai food.

We stayed here as a large group over 4 rooms for 3 nights. The staff, especially Jason and Zoe were wonderful. So friendly. Jason bent over backwards to help us with our stay. The Thai food was exceptional. We ate there for 2 of the nights, ordered a takeaway on Sunday night, and we ate it in the restaurant. We had such a lovely time here.

This was my first visit to here as a Thai restaurant and must say wasn’t disappointed at all. We booked our table over the phone as online bookings are not available. We has a lovely table in the lounge bar restaurant and it was cosy and warm. Very friendly staff who did everything to make us comfortable . The food was excellent , really tasty and nice size portions too and very affordable , 2 mains a rice and 1 dessert and also 4 drinks for £34 which was excellent value.. definitely going here again and highly recommended.

Awful Manager

Reviewed 10 october, 2020

So i visited the pub,as i needed a rest stop before i went home to London. It was a Saturday night. Pub wasnt too packed. But the guy who was there im guessing was the manager, was so rude to his staff. It was embarassing to say the least. I dont know how someone can gain respect if you talk to the staff like that. Sadly ill never stop in that pub again. He has really put me off.

Very friendly and welcoming village pub - but noisy too if staying overnight.

Stayed overnight in the little 'stable block' extension on the ground floor at the back. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the Thai curry was delicious! The room was fine; basic, but clean and comfortable enough. On the downside, it's located right by the back of the pub, and with the pub door open, and the smoking marquee just outside, it was pretty noisy. Admittedly this was a Friday night, but the shouts, laughter and (later) arguments of the punters made an early night impossible. I imagine on a quieter weekday night it would be much better. But if in doubt, bring earplugs! I don't want to sound like I'm whingeing, as it's a very nice, friendly village pub. And maybe if I'd drunk as much as some of the punters sounded like they had, I'd have slept straight through it. Oh, one other thing: you don't get breakfast as such - just a banana, apple and plastic-wrapped pastry given to you the night before. So it's Bed, rather than Bed and Breakfast.
