We stayed here for one night having caught the ferry from Royan to Pointe-de-Grave. It’s relatively easy to find and only a few minutes from the cycle route. The hotel is laid out like a chalet park with the rooms surrounding the pool. The pool was very well maintained and whilst not heated, provided a welcome cool-off at the end of a hot day. We were in room 15 which was south facing and benefited from the afternoon sunshine. Two deck chairs were provided which we made the most of after our swim. The main reason for my average review was the dated room and bed! The bed was definitely past its sell by date and no additional pillows were provided. The AC only seemed to blow warm air so was worse than useless. That said everything was clean and presentable; just in need of an overhaul. The bathroom was functional but there was no bracket to attach the shower attachment at head height - bizarre! They do however provide a lock-up building to store the bikes and breakfast at €9 each was reasonable value for the buffet provided. Cycling this way? Then with accommodation being relatively scarce in this area it’s worthy of a stop-over, particularly as there is an excellent restaurant nearby (Resto de la Gare); see separate review.
Great Value for Money and Friendly staff

This was a lovely place to spend a couple of days relaxing. You do need a car (or bike!) to get to local restaurants etc. The owners discourage you from eating in the rooms but have provided some picnic tables in the parking field. There is a clean well kept pool and you can get a beer or an ice cream in reception which is useful. Good breakfasts with vienoisserie, fruit and yoghurt as well as drinks. It is also extremely good value for money. On the down side - the decor is looking a little tired.

I do think this is on the good side of average. it is in a peaceful location, directly on a cycle route to Hourtin- Port. The proprietors were friendly and welcoming. There were a couple of niggles, quite a lot of rules about what can and can't be taken into, rooms and our room was very clean but the decor is a little tired. It did give us the peace and quiet we wanted, I like the tiny terraces and I woUld recommend it.

The hotel is in a very quite area, which is surrounded by many cycling ways. We used the pool which was a welcome refreshing when it was very warm in Hourtin. The pool and the room (very large) were very clean. We sometimes thought, that a cleaning everyday isn't necessary. We didn't book breakfast but as we could see, it was French breakfast with croissant, butter, some cereals and yogurt. The owner have been very nice and they speak excellent English. For us, who just speak some words French, it helped a lot. The next supermarket is quite far away, you need a car or a bicycle. Good stay for relaxing.
