Holiday Inn Houston - Westchase

Rooms are showing their age. I received a status upgrade. Sheets were stained. Bed headboard rotting. Couch is second room could have been picked up at Goodwill. Not great value. You can do better than this for less money in the area.

Holiday Inn needs to do a better job screening the employees they hire. The front desk staff has a horrible attitude. They lack customer service, they don't enforce Covid-19 safety protocol. They have signs for people to wear masks but it's not enforced. The rooms are comfortable with coffee makers,microwave and fridge. They don't have breakfast but you can order room service. Sadly they also allowed loitering inside the hotel suspicious individuals loitering and would follow you to the elevator if they see you alone. If front desk provided better service it would make the visit more enjoyable, the hotel is conveniently located.

My review starts before we even got there. I called to say we would be checking in a little later in the evening and wanted to make sure our room was locked in and request some extra pillows. When we arrived to the location it was welcoming and very well lit. I like that the parking was underground by the way and again secure. When I called I spoke to Tyrone at front desk , we was professional, polite, and said he would take care of all our needs. When we came to the desk he was receptive and he stated our pillows were already taken to our room . And to let him know if we need anything else. The room was great and very clean , the bathroom was fantastic all the details to the room were on point. I had asked what percent the hotel was at so we knew if we needed to come down at start of breakfast , he told me without missing a beat and said we should be fine . The central air in room was great, very comfortable and the bed was great. The foldout was for my daughter and she is small ,but if you got a longer person, might be a little rough. Oh and did I mention, he offered to get us an upgraded from , we said we were fine . The breakfast was bomb diggity and all fresh. We checked out the gym and fully equipped with top of the line equipment! It was too cold for the pool. So those were the great things . So my areas of complain was the fridge was not that cold . And the sound for the road was a little loud at times . As for the employees Tyrone killed it at night . I witnessed a really loud somewhat out of place "guest " get might I say very professionally handled and explained to that person they need to take it down a notch. This person was intimidated and tried to get a rouse out of the front desk person. And for it being morning and end of his shift . He gets 4 stars on how he handled the situation. The breakfast staff was super nice and friendly. I did meet a female manager and told her about how impressed I was with her staff and our stay. A side note Houston did have a situation with the water due to a water main busting in town and gave instructions about what to do for safety and was eventually given the ok. Great location ,great stay,great staff. Please stay here.

Place itself is clean but needs some TLC. Only one elevator works. Electrical outlets near the bed would not hold a plug. Nice bed and comfortable accommodation. Restaurant is pretty limited and poor quality offerings. Pleasant bartender. OK for a one night sleep but nothing special here.

The staff was polite & I had no issue in that respect. But the hotel & accommodations were another matter: I had one request about not being next to the elevator...guess where my room was? I never got my wake-up call The clock in my room was off by about 45 minutes The power outlets near the bed were too loose to hold a charger Could have been worse, I suppose. But this is a Holiday Inn!!! No excuse for this many problems on 1 stay.
