Return after a two year hiatus

After nearly two years of not traveling on business, I had the opportunity to return to the Westin Oaks at the Houston Galleria. From the valet parking duo of Ricardo and Daniel, to the front desk and housekeeping staff, and the bartender Guadalupe, it was easy to remember why this property continues to be my hotel of choice while visiting Houston. The service is impeccable, and the rooms and common areas are spotless. Moreover, virtually all of the services remain intact, in spite of the widespread lack of workers in this sector. Keep up the good work, Westin Oaks !
Covid problems or brand problem?

I believe they were really understaffed and so services suffered. Pretty much like every other hotel in america. Limited room service and hours. Ricardo and daniel at valet were fun though. Seemed to really enjoy their job. Their tech support wasnt that great but thats not their job

I hate to write down a Marriott brand but it’s been a really bad experience twice in a row. I travel quite a bit for work and the last few stays have been pretty bad. The room has red mold and dead bugs on the bathroom ceiling. Check in took nearly a half hour despite only one person in front of me. I think I could live with all of that, so long as I’m not on vacation. But the worst part is trying to get a meal with the demands of work. Room service halts at 7pm, so don’t arrive after 6 and think you’ll be fed. And DO NOT think ordering breakfast the night before, despite the app and what we have come to expect of Marriott, is an option. Just called and was told the app does work and should plan to get up and order 1.5 hours before I want breakfast. I get it, first world problems. But wait, since I arrived late and trying to find a meal, I see a paper skis under my door….no A/C 11-1 tonight…we’ll, okay except when I called to ask whether previous A/C would pick back up? Nope, auto reset so if I want a temp below the 70s, it was suggested I set an alarm post reset to cook the room again. Not sure why anyone would recommend this location.

Michael and Ricardo were awesome! Everything was so quick and efficient! They offered to help with my bags and always opened my door without hesitation! Made a big difference for my stay at the Westin!

Wanted to take a staycation with my girlfriends in town. Thinking we can stay close to the mall and have two days of shopping and relaxing at the pool so We stayed here because it’s literally the mall hotel lol it’s a nice hotel, for the location it should have some upgrades to accommodate a younger crowd. Due to my disability I felt it was easier to valet my car instead of parking in the garage and go up the stairs. Ricardo the valet guy was so nice he took care our car no problem at all.
