Comfortable
We enjoyed our stay here before heading out to Taroko National Park. The room is nice and clean. The bed is comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The wifi works well. The breakfast buffet is average. In summary, it was a good experience.
Nice new room
(1) Very close to Xincheng Train Sta and Bus Sta (200 m) for TRA and Taroko buses (Taroko Route Tourist Shuttle Bus 1133 n 1133A & Taroko Bus 302). (2) Got free upgrade from Standard no window to one with a balcony (n view) :) (3) Got new nice room with new nice furniture :) (3) Bfast buffet, disappointing. In fact, this was the only hotel bfast with fried chicken in the menu we encountered during our Taiwan trip, but it's too tough n hardly edible. (5) Allowed me to borrow their phone to contact my local tour operator.
Clean but odd
My friends and I were each given rooms with two (tiny) twin beds (despite them being a married couple and not what we booked). The wall between the bathroom and the main area of the room is entirely glass. Potentially sexy for showering if you’re a couple but awkward if you’re not. And also there’s the toilet? Speaking of showering, hot water is either non-existent or you have to run the shower for ten min or more to get any. I gave up and had cold showers. Breakfast was plentiful tho a little decimated after the tour buses had already gone through. We were in the breakfast room (see picture) for an hour and never saw a staff member. The front desk staff is super friendly and had excellent English. The aircon works well. The rooms have a balcony with comfortable loungers. There’s also a fridge in the room (you just need to flip the switch on). So I would stay here again. Just know that there are some oddities. The hot water thing is the reason I rated this so low.
Really nice option, would stay again!
This was a great hotel option for us while exploring Taroko National Park. It is very close to the train station, and then we were able to rent a scooter very close by the train station as well, which was also very good and recommended. This hotel seemed very clean to us, which is very important to me. Everything felt very new and in good condition. The staff was all very nice to us, one woman in particular- maybe the manager?- spoke excellent english and was extremely helpful. There were a few very minor issues that could be improved upon, but overall we thought it was a great stay and really good value for the money. I would definitely stay there again if I'm lucky enough to return to Taroko, and would recommend it to a friend too.
Hotel not ready for public.
We had booked 2 rooms on the internet. We arrived around 9pm and no one was at the front desk, which was a mess. There were people sitting at a table drinking and later they left, got on motor-bikes and drove away which told us they had just come in from the street. We called the number for the hotel and someone said, "I'll be there soon" and arrived in 10 minutes by car! She checked us into our rooms and put on us on separate floors which we didn't like. When we got to our rooms, we could tell that the hotel was in progress of being opened. Some of the walls needed paint and there was no hot water. Also, the whole atmosphere seemed a bit scary. The price was on the higher side and we felt very disappointed. We were glad we were only staying one night!
