Great holiday had here
We've just got back from our 2 week stay, the hotel is lovely and the staff are great too. Marta on reception in particular was extremely helpful, informative and friendly and is genuinely a lovely lady. We was self catering and was struggling where to eat that wasn't all fish (being a fishing town, its mainly what all local restaurants do) but Marta advised us on where to go and was spot on. Hotel is really clean and tidy and is in a great location. Only 30mins away on a bus to Ayamonte which only cost 1.40€ pp each way.
Decent
Very clean and well looked after hotel. We stayed all-inclusive. Family of four, kids age 4 & 6. Good selection of food at every meal time. Good snacks and drink choices. All in all pretty good. Only issue people may have is that its very Spanish focused, the staff and entertainment speak hardly any english so it was confusing for the kids to know what was going on. We didnt mind though as we keep ourselves to ourselves. Nice market stalks at the back on the hotel and a short walk to the Marina.
Relaxing holiday with friendly entertainers
We stayed 12 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our holiday a lot. The hotel leaves a good impression when you come in, clean throughout, and lots of plants in the middle of the ground floor. The pool area is very nice, and the pool big enough to swim some good laps. The jacuzzi is great, too, but since there is no kids pool, you have to be lucky to get a quiet time in there without kids splashing around. We particularly liked the room, spacious, big balcony and very comfortable large beds. Our first morning we were woken up at 7:30am by a big truck (Biomasa) in front of our balcony facing the main entrance, which furnished energy to the hotel, I think, which blasted for about an hour, but to our relief the next time it came, it came at a later hour. Given how loud it is, it might be a good idea to have it always come after guests have woken up, if that's possible. Animacion was good, I really enjoyed sports sessions with Amilcar, and the team of Paco, Giorgina, MariPaz and Lara (?) tried their best to remember everyone's names and their kids' names and greet them with smiles on their faces. Being there outside of high season meant that very few people participated in what they had to offer, and they could have promoted their activities a bit more and got some more interest, i think. But even without that they were still happy to hold the activities for just 1 person sometimes. Staff overall was friendly. When I fell sick, I was very thankful to the reception night staff (I never learned his name), who assisted me with empathy and professionalim. + spacious rooms, wonderful beds + animacion team + good location close to sea - maybe some entertainment in English would be good, too - the chip card for the room failed to work several times - somehow our booking hadn't come through and we had to pay for the night again upon arrival, but were reimbursed the following day. Apparently this had happened before, too. We would happily come back one day!
Enjoyable stay
We stayed here as part of a walking tour and were pleasantly surprised after reading some of the reviews on here. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean with a huge bathroom containing both a bath and a walk-in shower. The pool area was well organised and maintained, with plenty of sun beds. The food quality was good and there was a huge selection, including meat, fish, stir fries and pancakes cooked to order. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. We also liked the location, near to an unspoilt trDitional fishing village with tapas bars surrounding the marina.
Sea and Sun
A standard Spanish resort hotel, with large, well-appointed rooms, a full complement of pools, loungers, and games provision (including, unbelievably, a pistol range) decent food, a wide variety of spa treatments and helpful staff. 100 meters across a dune to a Blue Flag beach, but in May, it was little used. An oddity was that the hotel guide in Spanish, French and German advised against drinking tap water, while in English it made no such mention, and there was no English-language television other than Bloomberg despite many guests being English-speaking. A personal niggle was that there was such difficulty in making the safe operate reliably that I cancelled the contract.
