Agriturismo Saludi e Trigu

A clean place, a bit out of the way. Breakfast was ok. The manager was very friendly and gave us good info about the sights in the area. We booked this hotel because it had a pool, but the pool was closed, They could have mentioned this at the booking site. So it made it expesive for what it was. But nice views. And they had the cutest lovable dog, made up a bit for it.

Agriturismo Saludi e Trigu is something between a typical agritourism and a small pension. It’s a modern building with multiple apartments and a restaurant. We stayed there for a week in the beginning of June and enjoyed every day. The staff is very friendly and although not everyone speaks English, they always try to help. We booked the apartment for two, but we got a really big apartment that had two large bedrooms: one with a (large and very comfortable) double bed and one with twin beds. Both are equipped with wardrobes. Apart from the bedrooms there is a dining room/kitchen equipped with a fridge, a cooker with an oven, an electric kettle, a toaster, a coffee machine and all the necessary pots, dishes and cutlery. In the dining part, apart from the table, there is also a TV. This room is airconditioned. There is also a bathroom with a shower and a wash machine. In summer a lovely pool is open in a large garden, great on hot days to cool down, and the sunbeds to rest. One can order (a day in advance) a breakfast in a reasonable price of 7 Euro/person/day. What’s important that apart from the typical for Italian breakfasts sweet food there are also some non-sweet options. On all days when we didn’t order the breakfast we were finding in front of our room a basket with some cake, bread rolls etc. – every day something different. :) There’s also a restaurant, but when we were there the in the beginning of June it was open only Fri to Sun for dinner. There are various dining options; we tried it once and we got delicious, local food. We found the location of the apartment to be very convenient. The airport in Cagliari is just like 45 min away driving, while the city of Iglesias with all the necessary shops and eating options 10 min away. The closest and quite large sandy beach Fontanamare is 20 min away, while within less than one hour of driving there are many other attractions like e.g. the amazing cave Grotta di Su Mannau, the dig in rocks Porto Flavia, the Porto Pino white dunes and others. For people who prefer calm holidays it may be important to know that this part of Sardinia is far less crowded than the Northern or Eastern parts. There are really few things that we can complain about. The key is the size of the water boiler, which is big enough for like one shower and then one has to wait for water to warm up. Also there’s only one air-conditioner in the living room, so it takes some time to warm up or cool down the other rooms. For those who don’t have the car available it may be a bit difficult to reach the place as there seems to be no public transport passing nearby, there are also no any shops etc. around. The freeway is passing few hundred meters away, not causing much disturbance, but the place is then not for those who like completely remote locations.

This agristurismo is conveniently located just off the highway, an hour’s drive from Cagliari and a few miles from the lovely town of Iglesias. We (a family of four) stayed for 4 nights. The rooms very large, comfortable and clean. We had one of the larger double rooms, with kitchen (fridge and even freezer), airco, convenient bathroom, … .The pool is really beautifully located (a bit awkward they had an aqua gym course for locals during the day, but that did not bother us)! Breakfast buffet is basic, but with enough variety (bread, cornetto, cake, fruit, yogurt, corn flakes, …) On two occasions we also had dinner, which is highly recommended. Be aware you can only choose between a small “tourist” version and the full “traditional” menu! The two other nights we headed to Iglesias where we found two other nice restaurants. Francesco and his team really thrive to make their guests as comfortable as possible.

Lovely clean accommodation. Beautiful quiet grounds and amazing scenery. Lovely warm hosts and traditional on site restaurant offering a daily set menu of locally sourced freshly made Sardinian food. 5-10 minutes away from local town and about 30 minutes drive from Cagliari. A great base for exploring up and down the south west coast of Sardinia.

This is a very nice agriturismo. The service is impeccable. They prepared us a little lunch served on our terrace, because we arrived too late for the restaurant. They took really good care of us during the whole stay. Thank you for that! The setting in open and beautiful grounds is great. Very nice and big swimmingpool. Our apartment was spacious, with a rather spartan decoration, but everything we needed was there. The only minor point was the quality of the bed, which we tought wasn't comfortable at all. We had dinner one night. Nice setting outside and very fresh and local cooking. Recommended! The location is very quiet and rural, but in easy reach of Iglesias, some 8 km away. An agriturismo where you really get value for money.
