Four Stars Doesn't Mean it's a 4 Star Hotel....
La Dolce Vita was good for what it was, but I wish my husband had found us somewhere a little nicer to stay. The staff was very helpful and relaxed, and fed us even when the restaurant was closed (lucky, since there was nowhere else to eat). I found the location a bit remote as there is no other restaurant option (in late April) and no stores whatsoever. The view from our window was spectacular. We were eaten alive by killer mosquitoes but can't blame the hotel for that. The power was turned off every day for the day and sometimes it was turned back on by dark. Sometimes not, but eventually...Did I mention the food wasn't very good? Except for breakfast, which was excellent and abundant.
Ilha Grande is absolutely stunning, and we were lucky to stay in La Dolce Vita. We arrived late in the evening and the staff were on the dock to welcome us and help with our cases across the beach! This property is run by the most lovely, welcoming, warm people who made our stay so wonderful. The location is stunning , property is very clean with great food ! Cannot recommend it highly enough, our stay was unforgettable.
Very poor service
I had already been on the island three days when I booked this for one night. Unbeknown to me, as it doesn't make it clear on the website, it costs 400 reals to get there from Arbraoo. I found that out a few hours later and contacted the manager straight away to ask for a refund. He completely refused even though the reservation had been made only a few hours before for the next day. Instead he sent me boat times to go back to the mainland and get a different boat to his instead, a 3-4 hour round trip. Then he just stop corresponding completely. Really poor service and even though it cost me reals I'm glad I didn't stay there because of it. There are plenty of better choices on the island I'd swerve this one completely.
Really nice small hotel, family style. Daily breakfast included with varied menu for lunch and dinner, romantic tables. Friendly and helpful service from management and employees. Quiet, secluded beach with various options of trails to other beaches and activities. Tours to nearby beaches offered by boat to see other islands.
Close service by Ezequiel and his family
We stay in Posada Lagamar and we though will be worth it to go and find out about the rest of family business and la posada was really good. And no doubt, run by Ezequiel very close person, friendly and very helpful. Food was just really good and good portion also. We ate there couple of times. Very recommended. Relax, in front of the beach and also has a posada to stay there or stay in their parents‘ one. However this family left us with really good feeling about our holidays. See you soon
