It has been fully renovated, and furnished with vintage and custom-made items from the family's private collection. Ideally located in the middle of the Caldera rim, at the highest point of the Caldera cliff, The Vasilicos offers privileged views of the volcano and surrounding islands. The Vasilicos is in between, and at walking distance from, the villages of Firostefani and Imerovigli, while the capital Fira is a 20-minute walk. The most magical place

Reviewed 16 november, 2021

We stayed at the Vasilicos on the first 3 days of our honeymoon and it was quite possibly the best few days of our life. Each suite has its own unique character, if you're an architecture/interior design fan it is unbelievably pleasing to the eye the way each room moulds to the cliff it is built within and the interior follows similar minimal bends and curves. The views are breathtaking, watching the sun on the water could entertain you day and night. Then there's the staff...the most genuinely wonderful people who cannot do enough for you and the food (the seabass ceviche pasta and gorgeous breakfast served on the patio overlooking the volcano). The moment between day and sunset in the hot tub every night with local sparkling wine and complete peace - was probably the happiest we've ever been on a holiday. This place is unbelievably special, I feel blessed to have visited.

Feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience

Reviewed 14 november, 2021

I am so glad I trusted previous reviewers and booked at The Vasilicos. It was the most amazing experience. The rooms are spotless and built into the cliffs, which makes for unique architecture. We stayed in Daphne’s. The view is absolutely incredible and looks out over the middle of the caldera, Skaros Rock, and the surrounding towns. It’s a thousand-foot drop to the water. Amazing for sunset and just a really quiet, peaceful location overall. Cooling off in the pool with a drink, a book, and that view feels like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. A great breakfast is included here as well and is served on your terrace. Your stay also includes a tasting at their brother vineyard, Vassaltis. The concierge, Konstantina, will contact you prior to arrival and help you arrange anything. If you book through their website, port/airport transfers are included. This is especially nice if you arrive by ferry - the port is chaotic, and you want someone waiting with your name on a card. Because The Vasilicos is a boutique hotel, you will get to know the whole staff. They are all so kind and personable. I was emotional to leave, even after a short stay!

Exceptional Stay for a Solo Traveler

Reviewed 24 october, 2021

I decided to visit Santorini at the tail end of my birthday trip to Greece so that I can relax and unwind from the busy schedule I had at the beginning of my trip. I chose the Vasilicos in Santorini for my stay and they did not disappoint. From the moment I stepped foot out of my taxi, I was greeted by Konsantina and Kyriakos with warm smiles. I did not have to lift anything as Kyriakos impressively took all of my bags and I was left to chat with Konsantina and check in. The check in process was relaxing and as I was a bit early I was offered coffee, warm croissants, and some champagne while I wait. I was informed that my wait time would be an hour and it was exactly an hour. I appreciated the timelines as I wanted to unwind and relax on my huge balcony with an incredible view of the volcano. There was a minor mix up with my travel agent when booking my spa treatments, but Konsantina went out of her way to make sure I had all of my spa treatments at the hotel as I originally wanted. I am vegetarian and Vangelis and Yannis made sure all of my meals were made with no meat. The spread for the incredible breakfast was amazing. I felt bad that I could not eat it all. And all of the meals were prepared fresh with items purchased the same day. As I was traveling alone, the staff never let me feel like I was alone. Princess and Cyril who cleaned the rooms were very chatty and we shared many laughs. Konsantina and Chris always made sure all my questions were answered and I made it on time to all of my excursions on time. Konsantina was also kind enough to take all of my photographs :). And George and Kyriakos shared many stories of their time in Greece whenever they came to check on me. They all made me feel very special for my birthday. The staff all hard working people, who were always smiling, and love what they do. It made my stay at the Vasilicos even more enjoyable. I stayed at the Beldevere suite and was impressed with the room, shower, balcony, views, hot tub, and custom pillows. I loved every small detail from the stones set on the towels to the luxury toiletries. Upon checkout I was gifted a bottle of sparkling wine, the same I received when I checked in and I was able to meet and chat with Daphne while I waited for my taxi. It was a pleasure learning about her family and the transition to what is now the Vasilicos. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel for any solo traveler who may think it's only for couples. It was the perfect stay to end my birthday holiday.

Incredible visit

We stayed at the vasilicos for our honeymoon. It was the best hotel we stayed at during our entire trip. The staff are so helpful and so kind. They helped arrange for excursions and tours and made it so easy for us. They gave us a welcome bottle of champagne as well as a bottle of sparkling wine to leave. They work tirelessly and endlessly throughout six months straight. We stayed at the pergola and the efta suites. Pergola was a very nice suite with a lot of space and a beautiful balcony. EFTA was special because there was a lot of privacy. Both had their own plunge pools and amazing views of the caldera. The breakfast was so good - unlimited fruits, breads, yogurt, eggs, meats, whatever you want. I genuinely cannot wait to come back to this amazing place.

Incredible views with even better hospitality

Reviewed 11 october, 2021

We stayed at the Vasilicos for 4 nights in September 2021 and it could not have been a better experience. The first night was in the Efta suite where the plunge pool looks right out over the cliff to the caldera and is an unbeatable place to spend sunset with a drink. Then the remainder of the stay was in the Belvedere suite, which has the most incredible terrace. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy breakfast and dinner, both of which beat any restaurant (both in terms of view and food). Try the slow-cooked octopus in balsamic or the grilled squid and you won't be disappointed. I cannot think of a single negative. Every member of staff from housekeeping to chef makes you feel so welcome - as do the three lovely kittens who seem (very wisely) to have made the Vasilicos their home. A very very special place and we feel very lucky to have stayed there.
