More about the hotel
The hotel price was a little high, but a pleasant hotel
I called the hotel a few hours before arrival to make a reservation and was told just to drop in. Given that almost every hotel is empty, I expected a very low price. While the price was fair for normal times, it was higher than I expected (and the hotel was almost empty). It was a very nice hotel as far as the room and location.
Not the Best Marriott Property
We often stay at Marriott properties when we travel and this was not one of our favorites. The entire hotel seems to be under renovation and it's quite dirty in the elevators and common areas. Not much available parking due to all the construction trailers and supplies taking up the back parking areas. Our room was nice but odd that there is no drawer storage areas in either of the bedrooms in our suite. We stayed for several days and were unable to unpack because there was no where to put clothing other than hanging in the closet. The bedroom and bathroom doors don't close easily or stay open without being propped open. Furniture in sitting area not very comfortable either. Front desk staff was friendly and the free breakfast was adequate.
Facts only
I will not let my emotions flavor the review so here are the facts from a 3 week stay: 1. Renovations throughout entire hotel simultaneously 2. Guest laundry closed entire 3 week stay. Washed clothes at another Residence Inn as there was no commercial laundry nearby. 3. Pool closed entire 3 weeks 4. Exercise room closed entire 3 weeks. 5. Notified staff of nonfunctioning air conditioner. 2 days later returned to 85 degree room in evening. 6. Only one exit allowed from hotel, and front desk and breakfast area accessible only by walking around outside of hotel. 7. Exited elevator onto cloud of dust before construction area sealed, and construction materials and carpet renovations going on through only allowed exit. In balance, I was offered 12500 bonus points and transfer to another hotel, which I did. The renovations should have been planned in stages, or the hotel closed during the process.
Under renovation
Hotel is under renovation. Still charging for parking, but not sure why. Much of he parking is taken up by construction materials. Free breakfast, but other services may not be available. Got a great room rate for a decent room. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only a couple of minutes off I 70.
Good Hotel for Area
Stayed here for business for first time on a Monday and Tuesday night. Kind of tucked back from main road, but that made it relatively quiet. I always choose Marriott Brands whenever I can. Check in was friendly and courteous. I like having the free breakfast option, and always a bonus if the hotels offer happy hour options. I was pleasantly surprised to see Stella Artois offered during the evening happy hour on Monday and Tuesday. My favorite beer! Food offering was minimal on Monday night, but still good for a nice snack. Tuesday night was chicken breasts which were very good. The woman who handled the breakfast and happy hours was excellent and courteous. Ate at the local Hereford Steak House about a mile away one night, which was excellent. Room was fairly clean and comfortable with good bed. Shower tub needed re-caulking and found a couple of hairs, but that was really the only issue. Management informed me hotel is being renovated on April 1st, so I'm sure those issues will be corrected with renovation. Would stay here again if work brings me back to this area.
