The worst Marriott I’ve ever experienced. Ruuuuunnnn!

I’ll start by saying I’ve been a Marriott Rewards member for a few years and have loved staying at their properties while traveling on business.
I decided to take a staycation (I was pregnant during the pandemic, have a now five-month-old, am in transition between jobs, kid e-learning, and more) to de-stress, pray, relax, rejuvenate, meditate, watch some good tv, and eat my favorite meals. Because of Marriott's past experiences, I was excited to find a reasonably priced room in a prime location for my needs and booked on the website directly.
As others have stated, the manager, Raquel, is nice enough. We had a pleasant conversation in the lobby. I was taken aback, though, when I asked if she had corkscrews to open wine in the rooms and her response was, “I’ve been here nine years; they used to be there. Not sure if they still are, though.” Well, ok......I would think the manager of a hotel would be aware of the items that are in a room with a “fully stocked kitchenette.” No biggie, though. Good vibes. I’m here to chill.
Chiiiiiiiiile. The mess! The filth! The stench! I walked to my building and was greeted with filth and trash on the floor and a horrible odor. Still hopeful, I proceeded to my room in prayer.....
I’ve been inside of cleaner Super 8, four-hour rental room! There was urine on the toilet, the sofa was so stained I would not even sit my bag on it, walls were filthy, carpet not vacuumed, sheets gross, and a DIRTY SOCK in the MIDDLE OF THE FLOOR (photo attached). I could not believe what I was seeing. Of course, I called the manager and told her to cancel my reservation immediately. She apologizes and canceled as requested. I wish I had taken more photos, but I was just in utter disbelief.
I cried in my car. I really needed this weekend, and there was nothing else available with a Saturday check-in in my area as it was already past 3 pm. While in the parking lot calling around, Ms. Raquel walked out, as happy as ever, not a care in the world, on her way to vacation. That stung and made it worse.
As you can see from the screenshot, I checked out 20 minutes after check-in. A total mess!!!!

Stopped for one night on long road trip. This is a budget hotel that is an excellent value for the money. Very clean and the staff were wonderful - special thank you to Jared and Brenda. They were so helpful and friendly. We will return during our next trip out to the Midwest.

I had the pleasure of spending a few nights here prior to a cross country move. It was great to have plenty of space and kitchen facilities while being close to some of the best shopping and dining in the city. The location and value cannot be beaten and the staff is kind and welcoming! We ended up leaving one day prior than planned and they went above and beyond to accomodate. We are so glad we found this hotel so we can stay here when we come "home" to visit. Thanks for being my new go to!

Was stuck in Indianapolis due to COVID-19. Loved the service. Raquel was great. Couldn’t have asked for better people to help me out. They really helped me finish up the semester online. Location was great too. Jarred is funny.
Great price and comfortable stay

I was worried about staying in any hotel during the coronavirus pandemic. But I had to go to Indianapolis. And a colleague got a great rate at the TownePlace Suites. Once I got here, my fears went away. Everything was spotless and clean. The people were extremely professional and friendly. The room was great. It was probably the most comfortable bed I've had at a hotel in a long, long time. Everything worked just as it should. There was no breakfast... but that is understandable because of the circumstances! I big thumbs up for this place.
