Good small hotel a little outside the city

Reviewed 27 october, 2018

This is a good alternative to the centrally much more expensive hotels in Hannover. Rooms are nice, of good size and service is good and friendly. Good German breakfast. You can also park at the back of the hotel.

The perfect spot

I was not sure where I will be sleeping but when I left, there was no more doubt it was a top location. Room were small but the right size and look all with new furniture. The breakfast was the best, for 7.90 euros, I am not sure how they make money, nice bread, lot of choice. Room were 54 euros per night for a single bed room. Finally the owner or manager were very friendly and professional. if I have to come back to Hannover, the place to stay !!!

Good place for a stopover

Reviewed 27 october, 2013

Stayed with family for one night while travelling across Germany, this was a good and easy to find spot not far from the highway. The village of Isernhagen is not much but it was easy to stopover there on a long journey. We stayed in the annex - I guess that's called villa Will - and the rooms were nice and clean and well appointed. Unfortunately, one of them had windows facing the road, which is a busy road with cars travelling pretty much nonstop until well into the night, then starting again very early in the morning. The other room didn't have any windows and was very quiet. Also, both rooms didn't have any doors separating the bathroom. So staying with a husband of many years is OK - he's seen and heard it all - you wouldn't want to take a newly acquired boyfriend or girlfriend though, unless they agreed to step outside when one is using the bathroom. Strange arrangement, considering everything else was very new and modern. Breakfast was nice, with good selection of food and good coffee. I would stay again, just in a room that doesn't face the road.

Never again!

My reviews, indeed my very latest, are based on many years of experience staying in hotels. Hotel und Gästehaus Will in Hannover, is probably the least gratifying stay I´ve had to date. Despite the friendliness of the male receptionist, and after I asked where I could eat and drink he replied, “across the street; there´s a Spanish restaurant there”! So, within this extremely modest hotel, there is neither a place to eat nor a bar to drink in! When I mentioned my overnight stay was going to cost my company 99, 00€ - excluding the cost for a breakfast, the receptionist replied; “normally a room is cheaper but, and due to an exhibition in Hannover, the price is automatically higher”! What a great consolation…not! When I opened the door to my room (number 19) I instantly felt closterphobic! In all my life I have never seen such a small and depressive-looking place than this! The bed looked like an enlarged coffin without the lid; the quilt felt like a heavy sack which, constantly burdened my sleeping hours of the night of 6th May 2013! The “quilt” was simply too heavy and bulky for a very warm-spring evening (night) and it was extremely uncomfortable. The bedframe – like in Celle Tor Hotel, was higher than the mattress meaning, I had to practically jump up from the side of the bed in the morning, before I could actually stand up from it! I had to leave the window in this God-forsaken room shut all night, as heavy-duty lorries, cars and motorbikes drove past consistently. The entrance to Hotel Will faces the main street and traffic. On the other side of this hotel, a smaller but still noisy traffic presence can be seen and heard. The pleasant, comforting and holiday-like photographs in the internet, do not show the actual truth about either the noisy surrounding arrears or, the gloomy look and atmosphere in the room I stayed in. interestingly, not 60 metres from Hotel Will, and on the same side of the busy main street, there is another hotel Will with the words “Villa”, painted on one the side walls. I didn´t bother to look and see if this hotel is also a 3 star and, equally depressing from inside. I´d experienced enough from Hotel Will 1 already, and could not be tempted. The bathroom was nearly as long and wide as the “living room”, only, the shower cabin, when I either tried to bend down or move my arms or hands to rub the extremely-limited quantity of liquid gel over my body, my head, elbow or buttocks banged against the restricted “four walls”! My height is 1,75 centimetres and I weigh (sadly) 83 kilograms. If you´re not exactly Miss Twiggy and your height is more than 1,50 centimetres, you too will find a shower very difficult und yes, very unpleasant! There was not one plug socket in the whole bathroom. Not exactly practical or convenient I feel. The above-mentioned hotel was very clean; the furniture – and not only in room 19 is, (to use a word from the 70´s) funkadelic! The colours scheme has not true direction. The ornaments “decorating” the hotel are bits & bobs from everywhere it seemed to me. Uniformity isn´t a necessity in a hotel perhaps but, if I wanted to visit a museum for inexpensive “collector´s items”, I wouldn´t have stayed in Will Hotel! Ending on a good note then, the breakfast was great! The assortment of rolls, meats, chesses and drinks, was superb! And guess who was serving on the morning of my departure? The very same, friendly and talkative male receptionist, of the evening before! I wonder what he gets paid per hour?

Home away from home

Reviewed 20 september, 2010

It is a nice family-run small hotel located on the outskirts of Hannover, some 4 km away from the city centre. The neighbourhood is really nice with small brick houses and plenty of restaurants and other hotels but it is not practical unless coming by car. They have their own parking sports at 5 euros a night. Rooms are spotlessly clean, well-appointed and quiet. My only quibble was that the blanket was too warm and made of syntetic fiber. Otherwise, everything was excellent. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, lots of ham, Spanish sausages, cheese, eggs, jam, bread, tea, and coffee. Highly recommended!
