This hotel had a great location, it was close to everything and the rooms were very clean. The staff were excessively helpful, they immediately upgraded our room when we asked, very pleasant attitude towards the visitors. We only had one minor complain though, their breakfast wasn’t good at all, no variety. I would like to specifically thank Ibrahim and Bariz at the reception, they were one of the most helpful and generous staff I met.
Worst place I ever stayed, no service whatsoever, for 3 people they give 1 towel, when we asked for more they gave us dirty towels. The room smells like a toilet. The reception told me if I don’t like it I can leave. Shower is disgustingly dirty. The tea station had one small cup, no water , no tea or coffee. No cupboard for clothes just 3 hangers, safe does not work, view of a demolished building, broken bed which they said they cannot replace. Refuse to give more than 1 key card which 3 people must share. Worst of all is the disgusting attitude and no regard for service from the reception, as if you should be grateful to them.
Very good place near the most important historical places and centre and sea and shops , side by side taxi station, friendly kind personal , clean rooms free wifi good breakfast we will come this hotel again :)
New Year's Eve ruined-If the hotel manager wants to sell your rooms he will, trust me and pick another hotel.
I have booked 4 rooms at the Albatros Premier for me, my husband and 3 other rooms for my friends with check-in on the 31 st of December for 4 nights. My colleague Arzu Mutas which speaks turkish as well called several times to reconfirm the booking and to make sure that everything is ok so that we will not have any issues. Each time she was told everything is ok and that are waiting for us. Even on the day of our departure from Romania to Turkey she called again to let them know that we will be checking in late due to a car accident that we had on the highway upon entering in Turkey. They again said everything is ok and that they are waiting for us. We arrived at the hotel at 23:00 on the 31 st of December 2019 and we were told that they sold the rooms for the first night to other clients and that we had to sleep somewhere else. 1 room was checked in at a hotel nearby, the second room at another hotel and my room and the room of Vildan Hotulig were in the same hotel. Vildan Hotulig room was a superior room which we booked , but mine on the other hand was something of a staff room in the attic which was all patched out and smelled like mold. I asked to speak with the manager and then he told us that he had some sort of a group in the hotel that had some sick children and he decided to sell our rooms to them and making us stay in what was available. May I remind you that we were travelling with a small child of 5 years old child that already was scared from the car crash. This at an international level is considered fraud and we intend to act on our rights. When I asked him why didn't he checked out the clients and relocate them to another hotel since he knew there weren't any rooms available ,he told me that they I as a woman should understand the situation and if i don't like the situation I can go somewhere else and he will cancel the reservations for us all. As you can imagine I got scared that at 11:00 pm after a 10 hours drive from Romania we were about to lose our rooms and sleep in our cars because where could we have found other rooms at that hour. On the 1 st of January 2020 we were all given rooms in the same hotels and this time there were all superior rooms. The hotel manager decided fully conscious to sells rooms knowing that he wouldn't have what to offer us. I think he was hoping that we wouldn't arrive at the hotel and he would have doubled his profit with our money. Also i understand that this is the way for them to make extra cash on the side, because to the clients that where already there he gave them whatever rate he wanted as opposed to us that we came on the b2b wholesaler net rate of Hotelbeds. I work in tourism now for more than a decade and never have i ever seen this type of attitude in a hotel manager that does this kind of blattend frauds just to fill their pockets on the side,we recognise this type of behaviour and we shall not approve it. I put myself in the shoes of my clients ,if they were to check in at the hotel and had to experience the same problems as I did. And trust me when i'm telling you that they were hoping for us not to check in because they went blank when they saw us at the reception and started making calls deperatly because the didn't spoke with other hotels to take us in. The manager uses all kinds of tactics to scare and intimidate people and there is only one way and that it is his,he is above the law and he can do anything he wants. I'm hoping that you can achieve something and have a greater power because my decade of experience came short when threatened to sleep in the street just because i have the audacity to demand what i paid for and ruin the manager's plan. As he told me "i'm a woman i should understand". We are also looking into what is the point of view of the tourism police in Istanbul which we were directed to and we were told that they deal with this kind of situations and maybe they can put a stoip to all of these kinds of practices. Never have i ever been so humiliated and reduced to "just a woman that has to understand" in my entire life.
We stayed for two weeks in this hotel. It was a good choice because: 1. The hotel is very well positioned near the tourist attractions. 2.The room was large, clean, with furniture like new, with very comfy beds.In the room it was a fridge, a kettle, air conditioned ( it wasn' t necessary in December), and a radiator for heating. The bathroom was large, like new and all worked perfect. The room was cleaned daily and the towels changed. The internet connection was very good. 3.The breakfast was very good, with a large choice of meals. 4. The zone is very safe and quite. 5.The management of the hotel is very good: the staff is very friendly and helpful, speaking English very well.We mention especially Mr.Danes, who is very active, from the morning until the evening ready to help , to offer informations or to solve any problem that could appear. So, we'll return to Albatros with great pleasure in our next trip to Istanbul.
