Hotel with certificate of safe tourism
One of the reasons I chose this hotel because it has certificate of safe tourism. It is important for me to ensure myself that the hotel follows the covid precaution rule. The room was very clean. Great rich buffet breakfast. Very strategic location and there is small mini market / Migros Jet right beside the hotel. Lucky for this hotel because many guests from Arabian countries also prefer to stay in Beyaz Saray Hotel. The only thing was the smell from the bathroom as I guess the hotel has issue with sewage system.
Absolutely unpleasant experience
In all my years of travel this has got to be the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. From a surly and unpleasant receptionist on day one of our arrival to two filthy, run down, old and smelly excuses for hotel rooms words simply failed me. The original rooms we got smelled like a sewer, it was dark, dingy and looked worse for wear. The towels were threadbare and I was just all round horrified that a hotel that advertise themselves as four star actually didn't even scrape three star ratings. The breakfast is not nice at all and doesn't come close to international standards. After contacting my booking agent and raising a fuss we were moved to rooms on other floors (not upgraded as they had told my booking agent). This didn't phase me as I am not the kind of person who looks for freebies. I must admit that the hotel manager did try to placate the situation by providing a coffee facility, water and better towels in our rooms and the staff were marginally more attentive. The rest of our stay was a bit more decent but it is also a very noisy hotel where people argue and shout at the top of their voices at all hours of the early morning (there even appeared to be a full on domestic disagreement at about 4am on our last night that went on for almost two hours with no thought to the rest of the guests and no intervention from the hotel staff) If I ever had to come to Istanbul again would I stay here? Most certainly not, don't waste your money here, steer clear.
Perfect value for money
We stayed in this ho for the third time. The staff is really nice and helpful espacially at the front desk (ye...) helped us a lot. The hotel is going through a full refurbishment and the new rooms are really nice and comfortable (older ones are also good) Breakfast is good even if not specially focused on European guests.. Some pastry would make it perfect. The maitre is a mature man who is really professional and helpful... The first morning we arrived late as we thought that breakfast until until 10 30... The man has been very nice and prepared us food without asking... This is passion for service. Th only negative point is the girl attending the spa reception.. Totally unprofessional and not educated. As I arrive and ask for a towel she told to go back to my room and get one... I ask her how to do.... Taking a sauna and then use the same towel for the shower??? Yes, this is a problem of the hotel... Was the answer. I went to the front desk and talked to the guy (ye...Turkish name) he came back with me to assist me... The problem was not the lenguage.. The girl was unpleasant also in Turkish. She just told me to go right and use the locker to get changed... I wen back and let her notice that there is no indication on the door distinguishing between the male and the female locker.... And this can be embarrassing... The answer was... Ah.... Yes.... I do not know.......of course she does not know... She is just sitting sitting and chatting with her phone without even say hello to the clients. Another good reason to stay at this hotel is the location in front of the grand Bazar. I will surely stay at this hotel next time I visit Istanbul
Very bad experience. People at the reception are not profession at all. They let us wait 3 hours in the reception with no reason. We dont advise to book at the hotel however the only positive thing is the hotel location.
My 6 night stay in November @ Beyaz Saray
One thing that I must advise to alot of people when booking through the Booking.com platform is to ensure that you provide CREDIT card details and not DEBIT. There was complications and misunderstanding when I first checked in as my pre-payment had not gone through and so I had to plead with the Hotel and Booking.com. Thankfully everything got resolved in the end. As for the Hotel, it is beautiful. Amazing staff, high quality facilities. The spa which is located below ground floor is amazing and I really did enjoy myself. The Hotel is in an amazing location where everything is easily accessible and a straigh walk away, from the Grand Bazaar, to SultanAhmet, Hagia Sophia, Suleymaniye and many more. I could not have imagined finding a better hotel with a top location. I would deffo recommend and would also consider coming back.
