The first moment we laid our eyes on this hotel, we were surprised how crowded the street was. We could've almost missed it, as it looked like part of the street vendors.
This only means how great the location was, as everything was so close by. Within the location was our favourite restaurant, yellow machine for ISTANBULKART and a tramp station.
Close by, we enjoyed the Gulhane park, that was great and it was so close to the Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. We really just needed to wake up at 7AM and within 10 minutes we're there. Not crowded, amazing for peaceful times..
The breakfast was very satisfactory and had a wide range.
The available pool had great size despite its location in city center.
Right next to the pool, we enjoyed the sauna.
For the staff, I cannot have a single complaint. Starting with how considerate they were and arranged our rooms, so that we can be on the same level.
All of the staff (and I mean the receptionist, the luggage guy, the cleaners, cooks) were extremely polite and friendly.
We had difficulties with IstanbulKart, because information on internet were old, so they registered all 7 of us, were incredibly patient and diligent.
We had tons of questions and one of them was a recommendation for a rooftop view. It was a wonderful place and we were very satisfied.
Last but not least, we want to thank Gürkan, very friendly and funny host, who made us feel very welcomed and we were always excited to return to our "home".
A great thank you for such amazing stay and great hospitality.

As a couple we stayed at Orient Express hotel from Jan. 16 to Jan. 20/ 2020. The hotel is cozy, clean and well-situated in Sirkeci near all Istanbul's most famous tourist sites. It has a varied and nice breakfast in the basement floor. Cleaning is daily. Reception staff are friendly and helpful.
One demerit is that some rooms are facing the street along which the tram passes, so if this bothers you (It doesn't for me), you need to ask for a back room.
I subtract one star for the reason that they used to have a rooftop terrace designed for a restaurant the thing that encouraged me to book this hotel but I was informed at check-in that is was closed.
Comfy and lively

The orient express hotel is centrally located and is good for the price. Everything is at walking distance and the staff helps you if you have any questions.
We had a little incident where my friend locked her stuff in the safe and forgot the password. We had a flight to catch but we did not have to wait or sacrifice a single second. Staff members Ali and Targo (hope I spelled it correctly) went above and beyond and got a technician to fix the issue at 6 am.
I would recommend this Hotel to everyone who needs a great location to stay in Istanbul.
Can’t fault it

The hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the main attractions in Sultanahmet. There is a tram line a 2 minute walk away. So the location is great.
Rooms may be a bit dated, but there is nothing wrong with them. Everything is clean, spacious and comfortable.
Staff are very friendly. There is a lift to carry up luggage etc., and airport transfers are available for a good price.
Breakfast is nice and fresh. It’s not the most luxurious buffet breakfast, however this is more than appropriately reflected in the price.
Considering the location and everything else, this is very good value for money, and would definitely choose to stay here again.
