The rooms are very cheap. If you go directly and book, it will be cheaper than on the internet. The room is of average size. Room service was not available for 5 days. Too dirty. Bedspreads and towels were not changed. Everywhere gets wet in the shower because there is no bathtub or cabin. Air conditioner stinks.The beds are so dirty. There is internet but it doesn't work at all. The reason is because the manager and his friends were playing games on the phone until morning. So it is very slow. Sometimes there is none. No cleaning was done for 5 nights. You can check-in and out at any time. There are markets and restaurants nearby, but don't eat anything. U can find cheaper places or u can bring with yourself to hotel. If you are going in winter, it will be cold because the duvet is too thin. You can ask the manager for one or two more. There was no trash in the room. Television works. Someone else had hair on the pillows. In short way, don't book.
The perfect
Great location, great staff, great value for money. Special thanks for the room service. The perfect combination of the price &quality. My recommendation for stay in Istanbul. We will definitely choose this place again at our next visit to Istanbul.
Budget Hotel
We went to see the rooms beforehand and we found the room was in good condition. We were hesitant after reading ALL the negative/bad reviews but when we inspected ourselves and check out the room and bathroom we were happy with it. The bus from the airport (HavaIST) drops you at Sultanahmet Square and from there its a good 10 minute walk to the hotel. The cost of the bus ticket is TL 18 (USD 3.15 / EUR 2.85) per person and there is plenty of space for luggage at the luggage compartment. We stayed five nights, from Nov 19th and check out on Nov 24th morning. They gave us fresh towels, the shampoo and body soap was provided, anything we asked for was provided immediately. All the staff speaks English. There is a working refrigerator which was very good for us as we had snacks and food stored for breakfast. If you need room service, just leave your key at the front desk and they will clean your room. The area is located in old town Sutlanahmet, which mean Hagia Sophia, Sultan Ahmet Blue Mosque, Constantine Obelisk, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar where all within 10-15 minutes walk (sometimes uphill). As its old town, streets are narrow so most places taxis have a hard time to get to and buses don't get in here. Plenty of eateries within 1 minute walk, there is a small shop for fruits, bread, snacks, beverages etc. Many shops for Turkish lamps, rugs, runners, tea set, decorated plates, souvernirs, bags, suitcases (if you need one) etc. Turkish delight, we bought it from Delight Turca, 5 minute walking distance from the hotel for TL 68 per kg (USD 12 / EUR 10.75 per kg) whereas in Grand Bazaar its TL 80 per kg (USD 14 / EUR 12.75 per kg). The hotel is off the main road so the sound of the traffic doesn't disturb you. The walls are a little thin however, but it quiets down and we had a good night sleep all 5 nights. The rooms are spacious and clean, a/c and heating system, bathroom has hot water and has enough room, there are closets, hangers for clothes, there were two single sofa chairs and a table for us to use which was good for us to have breakfast. There is an electric kettle and a BOX of tea, BOX of sugar were provided. Wifi was good. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout as our flight was late at night. We stayed in the second floor, room 2006 which was good. I read the other bad reviews but when we saw the room ourselves we were okay with it and we really enjoyed our stay. This is a good BUDGET hotel but do check out the room before you pay.
Terrible place..
As a single traveler, I have booked 3 nights here. At the reception, they tried to charge me more on currency rates. There was no towel in the room. The neighboorhood is not good. The room and the bathroom is not clean at all. Definitely not recommended..
Just don’t!!!!
Haven’t seen a cleaner for 5 days!!! No WiFi, nothing works, no tv. We were dumped at a hotel 20 meters further where we were placed at a room at the basement! On top of all, the guy at the reception demanded us to pay the fee that the hotel had to pay for Booking.com. For your safety and health; just don’t!!!
