Very good hotel
The hotel is very good, but not excellent! Even if you book a non smoking room, you will smell smoking coming from the other rooms via the air conditioning. Room is spacious. The view is great. Is I was rating the breakfast would be 1 star. Breakfast is extremely poor for a 5 star hotel. Food lacks of flavour and not much options. For juice there is only orange as an option. Breakfast was a big disappointment for me.
It really dropped
I use to stay at this hotel most of my visits to istanbul. Unfortunately, it is heart breaking to say that it has dropped tremendously. I use to be a loyal customer for the marmara taksim, but this time the hygiene was a mess..the room service was so damn bad. They always forget to put drinking water in our room. The rooM was so dirty knowing that we had room service on daily basis, but really i think the lady was not even cleaning the room she was only changing the towels. There was a construction near the hotel and they knew about it and they gave me the closest room to the construction so every night i use to wake up at 3 am because of the loud noise. Am really sorry to say goodbye the marmara that was my last stay. Best of luck
Amazing hotel - right on Taksim square. Very opulent hotel, immaculate and of a very high standard.
Would definitely stay in this hotel again. RIght on Taksim square. Metro station and Funicular railway station within 50 metres. Taksim square is at the start of the amazing Istiklal street. Hotel services are definitely 5 star. We booked a Bosphorus view room and were upgraded to a mini suite which had 3 TVs, including one over the whirlpool bath. Breakfast well booked and all Social Distance/Covid restrictions strictly adhered to. I love this hotel and will most certainly stay again. Views to die for and luxury in every way.
Starting with the positive the gym is really nice and the rooms are clean. That is about it really, checking in is not nice, there are 4 computers with usually two receptionists, one seems to be permanently on the phone laughing knowing there is a queue but not looking up. I had booked a superior room with breakfast included. The tables are not ready, no cutlery, needing to be cleaned properly and good luck trying to get someone to bring you a coffee and when it does arrive its poured out of a metal flask and is stone cold. They need to hire more staff they are working hard but its too much for them to cope. The next day I went just after 7am when they opened thinking it would be quiet, first I was told there was no coffee then I got up and spoke to a different person who told the girl to get me a coffee but again it was stone cold. There is a fruit section but no one was available to give me any fruit. There is juice but its behind glass and again there was no one there so I could not get juice. I left after maximum 5 minutes and went to Starbucks next door for breakfast. On my third day I did not even waste my time going there for that level of service. The room itself is okay, just about at a stretch I'd say 4 1/2 star at the most. Istanbul is a great city with lots of hotel choice, think really hard before booking Marmara.
Check in crazy late after 15:00 pm( impossible early check in) later you need wait long time just a couple people for check in. Because receptionist always answer phone, and check something I don’t know what can do so long time. Check out it’s more bad! 40 minutes min need wait just few people to check out. Receptionist guy work alone, and very busy, always talking on the phone and check in -check out same guy! The girl which one working there, always left somewhere. Very bad management. Hotel should found more people work in the hotel. It’s like 3 star, or even even in 3 star hotel management better. Rooms are very small and not very clean. This hotel not a 5 star, but restaurant on the last floor with panorama view it’s amazing. You just can visit this restaurant, but this hotel I totally don’t recommend.
