Absolute dream - can't wait to return
We had a beautiful room with marble bathroom, an enormous bed and tasteful furnishings. We loved having a cocktail in the bar while the pianist played jazz in the evening. The massage in the spa was one of the best I've ever had (and I've had many!). The location was great for our purposes too - by day we walked over the river to see the sights, and by night we walked up the hill to the buzzing restaurants and bars.
The house hotel Karaköy
One of my favourite hotels Location is great. Right next to tram which takes you either to fatih ( grand bazar, aya Sofia, and old city) and takes you to besiktas and next to metro which takes you to taksim as well. Beautiful unique boutique hotel, beautiful building with great view and great location in a beautiful vibrant area called Karaköy with lots of bars and restaurants. Close to galata tower, galata bridge Been there twice and love it. Addicted to the neighborhood Karaköy. A bit nosey because of the pub opposite to hotel.
Decent short stay with room for improvement
Located within easy access to the tram station, the main entrance is tricky to find for first timers - up a steep street with a small entrance, the door man is usually around to help with bags up the steps. But this place is definitely not suitable for those who can’t manoeuvre steps. The check in was a bit chaotic and confusing, there’s no dedicated concierge, with the front desk doubling the job which results in major hold up during busy check in and check out time. The doorman / facilitator is rather combative and one should refrain from approaching him - so much so for customer service! The room I had was rather small and tight, overlooks a back street, the lighting is a bit dark and the colour scheme was a bit off, the bathroom was decent, marbles with heavy veins, toiletries are all available. The power shower was welcoming. The Wifi was reliable. The AC and heating were great. The main highlight was the breakfast - the menemen eggs were to die for (can be ordered separately), the breakfast service staff were wonderful, very helpful, friendly and attentive and even offered to top up on coffee and juices.
Hotel was good, after first room they gave us that was very awful and i was so mad they give us very lovely room and change our room, staff on reception are very helpful and try to solve any problem or question that you have about inside or outside of hotel. I think on that area one of the best hotel.
Several years ago I have stayed at another hotel of the same group, and had a marvelous experience. I have been introduced to several other properties of the same chain and decided to stay at the The Vault next time I visit Istanbul. Hotel is beautiful, location is great. Unfortunatelly, the service does not match the 5* cathegory expectations and there are several 4* hotels with apparently better service and comparable pricing in the same neighbourhood.
