My father was in the Baptist Hospital. I have been running on no sleep. ( Don’t live locally) the Caplin at Baptist booked me a room so I could sleep and feel safe. I slept like a Princess! The housekeep was amazing and sweet as pie. I loved my room! And there a towel warmer!! 💝💝💝💝💝 I don’t even know I needed such a thing. The bed was soooooo comfy!! I can’t say enough good things.
One of The Best Boutique Hotels in the Country

We have stayed in many boutique hotels in our travels and this one is one of the best! Honestly, if you are traveling through Mississippi this is the hotel to stay in. First of all, we want to give a big shout out to the following team members: Princeton - A great person; he made us feel welcome from the first time we talked to him on the phone. He greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel welcome, almost like he was inviting us into his home. He delivered needed items to our room without hesitation and we saw him around the hotel doing whatever needed to be done with a smile on his face. Christa - Bar Assistant did a great job with serving and checking up on us even under extremely busy conditions. Very accommodating with a smile Christy Lee - Bartender - Very professional and accommodating under very busy conditions Top notch employees!!! The grounds were beautiful with an interior garden, modern furnishings, large banquet room for gatherings, lovely rooms all with an intimate feel, and great rooftop bar open on Thurs, Fri, Sat with nightly local musicians. The stay included a delicious full breakfast with lovely pastries, biscuits, gravy, fruits, meats and eggs. Wow!!! We want to thank you for making us feel so welcome and will definitely be back when we are in Mississippi.

Loved our stay at the Old Capital Inn! The place is so cute and styled so well. Would go back in a heartbeat! The courtyard is so dreamy. Breakfast was super yummy. The beds are so comfortable and the shower had great water pressure.

I don’t usually go to NON Chain hotels but when I saw the high reviews for the Old Capitol Inn, I made an exception. I was not disappointed. The hotel is in a remodeled old building literally across the street from the two new museums in the center of town. The room was updated with a nice bed that was very quiet. The hotel lobby and back patio area were full of ambiance and charm. The breakfast really was the best I have had at a hotel. The food was not all that different than you tend to see in hotels but the hot food was just cooked better and was tastier. It was the real thing. I wish I had stayed more than one night.
Charming, affordable and comfy.

We were passing through Jackson and had made reservations for The Capitol Inn. We called upon arrival around 10 p.m. and they allowed us into the gated parking area beside the building. I'm so happy we chose this Inn! It has so much charm and ambiance from the moment you walk in! Our room was so cute and clean. The small things make the difference for us. In the bathroom there was a towel warmer, wash rash for makeup, a small shampoo and lotion. There was also a white chrysanthemum in a small vase in the corner of the counter. Nice touch! The bed was comfy and we didn't hear noise during the night. We ate our breakfast outside in the porch area by the courtyard. Not only was the breakfast delicious but the courtyard is beautiful... even in December. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast so we were both happy with our selections. They had a buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, creamy grits, cereal, yogurt with toppings, muffins, toast, coffee, juice and milk. Although we didn't get to view the rooftop bar, it sounded like a great place to relax for happy hour or a night cap before heading to your room. While there are a few blemishes (as there would be with any older historical building) we loved the charm and hospitality of this Inn. If you only like new big hotel chains... this is not the place for you. But we highly recommend for those that like something different.... and affordable!
