Fall Season at Rustic Inn

Reviewed 14 november, 2021

This is a nice property in a great location. It was very peaceful and a beautiful setting. It is perfect for the close proximity to the Square. The cabins provide a tranquil space, and recommend over the hotel itself. Th rooms were clean and the included breakfast was an added bonus. Ryan at the front desk, Leo and Alec driving the shuttle were very friendly and helpful. The property has some room for improvement in management. We were there for a few days and never saw a manager. The communication amongst some of the ladies at front desk was lacking in direction, and not what one expects from from staff that is there to ensure you have a pleasant stay. The fact that it was off-season seemed a poor excuse to not having the bar open or spa running at leas for some minimum hours or on weekends. They need to figure out where the shuttle goes and convey to all the staff. It was a joke, because there was staff to take you and it was not busy. If they had some strong management this property would be more stars.

This place is filthy and the customer service is awful.

We checked in on a Monday in the midst of a storm. I told the desk clerk we were exhausted from our drive and were looking. Forward to room service. She told us we had a half hour to order. We walk to our rooms in the rain, drop our bags and call right away. The room service line rang to the bar, who told us the desk clerk knew there were no deliveries and we’d have to come back. So we came back, soaked, and got food. There was NO soap of any sort in our room. The desk coerce made us make another trip to the front desk in the storm to get it. There was spilled food (PEANUTS!) in the floor of our room. Housekeeping came every day of our stay and never cleaned them up. They also never had time to clean the giant spiderwebs in our shower. We complained to the front desk repeatedly and then decided to check out early. I called to shorten my visit in advance of my stay in case we wanted to flex our plans. (there was even a note in my record saying I’d called) and was told I could change them with no issue as long as I stayed two nights. The manager refused to honor his staff person’s promise and is charging me for unused nights. I would strongly discourage you from staying here. The luxury they advertise is not true. The bar and restaurant staff was lovely, so pop in for dinner, but I hope you stay somewhere that offers better service.

A bit expensive, but nice and relaxing...

Reviewed 10 october, 2021

We were not in a cabin but on the first floor in one of the buildings. The room was nice and spacious, but could still hear foot steps from above. The thermostat didn't really work right. We heard others complain at the lobby about their thermostat as well. In the end we used the fireplace to heat up the room. Ice and laundry rooms were centrally located to all the rooms. While we didn't want our room cleaned during our stay, when we saw the cleaning crew and asked for more shampoo, TP, or towels, they went out of their way to satisfy our needs. Ladies, bath products are "Molton Brown". I'll say no more. The included breakfast was good. Also, being able to text message Ivy, the concierge, was a nice touch and answered all our questions about the Inn, roads, and area recommendations. The bar drinks can be expensive (wine $18), but the FRIED BUFFALO WINGS ARE A MUST and we would have had them every night had we known how good they were! So you are aware, at check-in I felt like I was signing a legal document being liable for any issues. They made me feel like I had to point out any issues (torn wallpaper, loose faucet, table stain), take pictures, and make Ivy (concierge) aware so I would not get charged after I left. Lastly, get a sandwich next door at Creekside Market, they're awesome! It was a nice relaxing 3 days that was well needed.

Fantastic end to our vacation

Reviewed 9 october, 2021

We stayed at the Rustic Inn for the last three nights of our vacation. We've stayed there once before. Both times did NOT disappoint. We had this lovely room with our own front porch, facing a small grass courtyard. We found the room accommodations to be first class. In the evening, we walked around the grounds, and sat by one of the fire pits in the evening to watch the stars. SO relaxing, so comfortable. Although it is a fairly decent sized resort, it does not feel crowded in any way. We ate in the Bistro/bar and the food was excellent both times. Since it is very close to the town center of Jackson, it is easy to walk right into town to shop or eat. I highly recommend.

Horrible service, terrible bed, old room and no Covid measures

Reviewed 5 october, 2021

If I could give them negative stars I would. The worst service and experience I've ever had and they try to pass themselves off as a high-end resort. They cater to tour buses that come in and out, DO NOT STAY HERE! So many better options in town. Shame, because the property is on the river. The rooms are old, not updated, the furniture is old and it shows, the bed is one of the worst I've ever had, a sagging, spring mattress, no pillow top to speak of, although they will argue it is. The bathroom has no fan or door, the water pressure was horrible, the water temp was all over the place. The room temp was never working right, too hot or cold. When we came back at night and told them the bed was very uncomfortable and asked them for help, the woman working the front desk seemed annoyed she was being asked for service and said she couldn't do anything, she said the same thing in the morning so after breakfast, we packed up to leave and came in to ask for a refund for the following nights. At that point she got argumentative and hostile, saying they could not refund and now she said she could move us to another room. We were done and said no thanks, asked the manager to call us which he never did, and again asked for a refund and they refused. The breakfast was awful, it was gross, and no Covid measures, dishes, and silverware all out for everyone to touch, food out, no one serving it. The food was disgusting, soggy eggs, no bread, some gross-looking meat, and some fruit.
