Very Clean But Some Things Need To Be Known To Travelers
My room was very clean (as were the lobby, hallway, breakfast area, etc), and I had a refrigerator and microwave in my comfortable double room, as well as a Keurig coffee maker. There are a few things that guests need to know before booking, IMO. There is no daily maid service even though the IHG app states that there is (last time I checked), and I was told by the front desk to bring my dirty towels down to the front desk to get new ones. After questioning that requirement, I was told that I could leave them outside my door and new ones would be delivered; however, it might take a while since they were laundering the towels at that time. Also, they need new bed linens. My comforter had seen better days. My room (2 double beds) only had 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, and 2 wash cloths. I’m not sure if you can get more than that if you need them, so make sure and ask if you need to. The pool and hot tub are closed with no opening in sight (after asking at the front desk). When I used to travel with my younger children, this would’ve been a deal breaker for me. If you enjoy coffee or tea, you might want to bring your own Keurig pods with you. I was only given a couple of decaf pods, but since I’m not a coffee drinker, it wasn’t a big deal. Contrary to what is stated on the IHG app’s hotel page, there was a wonderful complimentary breakfast with veggie omelettes, sausage, breads, cereal, coffee and tea, etc. Sadly, I didn’t know this was available because I went by what was stated on the app’s hotel page, and I wasn’t told by the front desk when I checked in. I kind of stumbled across it my second morning and was very impressed how nice it was. I just wish I had known about it my first morning. I got a great rate for three nights, and I would probably return only if I could get the same price. If not, I’d look at other area (comparable) hotels.
You get what you pay for
This hotel is listed on IHG, so I assumed it was part of their network. But, they don't use one of the official IHG chain names. I think we got lucky and had a decent room, as it seemed like the hotel was only partially open or many rooms under renovation. The people working there are very nice, so no issues with the staff. The room was decorated fine, appearing somewhat new. The supplies in the room and bathroom are lacking. It seems like they are trying to skimp by while they are renovating. Beware of booking something during a busy time of year.
This place has turned into a nightmare
We had been staying here to come to football games in Manhattan because it was still adequate but way cheaper. After being booked in this room for months, we were informed a few hours before arrival that we did not have a room and there was nothing available in junction city at that point, period. Left stranded. Thanks. We canceled our other two bookings. We just can’t trust the system now. We were also told last April when we stayed there that construction would be done to a new converted Holiday Inn Express in August of 2019. It’s not, rooms are limited, just be careful.
Under Construction - DO NOT STAY
No towel racks; no toilet paper holder; in-room safe not functioning; no pool; no breakfast; bathroom electrical outlets not functioning; no light bulbs in fixtures; 15% off IHOP breakfast saved $2.00
This Property has Potential
This property has potential to be very nice but be warned if staying before December 2019, it is under construction. Our room was not complete and the lobby was completely torn up (so no free breakfast as promised.) We had to ask for things like light bulbs and toilet paper. The staff was very cooperative and helpful. Our room was large and very clean, had a comfortable bed but a small bathroom. Note the room did not have a blow dryer available and limited toiletries. The price was good for a Kansas State football weekend.
