Galaxy Hotel
rooms were okay, need a bit of a refurbishment, service okay, they were relatively friendly, would probably look for something else the next time I go there. Breakfast was nice, fresh juice and it is quite central to town.
Paper thin walls, worn out rooms
The hotel is at an excellent location, the historical town is very near. If you enter the lobby the first sight is promising. Even when you approach the room on the hallway it doesn't look bad. The room itself is ok (at the first sight), but after some minutes you start to discover small things like: eg. the shower tray was broken and they have repaired (glued) it instead of changing it, they mended the walls in the bathroom with some kind of yellow glue instead of white silicone, the edge of the mirror is broken, the holder of the shower head is broken and loose, etc. As I see it was a nice hotel when it was built but now it is just worn out. For me the most annoying thing is that although the street is quite quiet but the walls are paper thin, so you can hear everything from the hall and from the neighboring rooms. I was accommodated there by my company and I didn't had the time and energy to leave it. It is quite cheap but I would pay (or make my employer pay) a little more to get a proper hotel with proper walls and properly maintained rooms.
Central but average.
Very good location, central, close to the historical center.Old building, renovation is absolutely necessary. The room was dirty and the bathroom door was rotτen.The breakfast was very basic and the filter coffee was the worst ever.
Best value for money in Kalamata!!
The hotel is 1 minute from the main square so has the best position for shopping or even visiting the old Kalamata,the castle and the famous orthodox church of "Ipapanti" Excellent quality breakfast and lunch(if you ask for it) All fresh! Excellent quality of coffee but the owners are very open minded people so you are free to order pizza burgers traditional Greek food or whatever else you want and ask for delivery directly to your room with no additional charges !!! Mr.Spyros and his son George that run the hotel are very friendly and warm people and you may ask anything you want! THE ONLY PET FRIENDLY HOTEL IN KALAMATA!!! PS: Don't forget to stroke the best cat in the world that sleeps in the lounge area....She is the cutest thing in the world!!!
Nice
It was clean, quiet, and friendly. There was nothing more I would need. Very good breakfast as well! The next time I'll visit Kalamata, I will surely book there for sure. I recommend it for travelers who do look for budget.
