Amazing place

Had a great stay with a cozy room overlooking Karon beach. There is some walking and stair climbing to do to get back to the room but we didn't mind that at all and was a welcomed after a large breakfast buffet. There is direct beach access. You can walk out of the hotel to the main part of Karon beach but this will require stepping out to the main road for 100-200m. Breakfast buffet was very tasty with a large variety of options. Stayed during new year's eve and they had some wonderful celebrations and fireworks.

Lovely premises, but service lacking

Reviewed 16 january, 2022

During COVID, hotels had to get rid of a lot of staff, and then over Christmas and New Year, suddenly had a lot of guests (mainly from Russia). Very likely some of their old staff had moved on, and I think hotels in Phuket have had real staffing issues. This shows in a number of ways. There was meant to be a QR code in the room for room service menu but there wasn't. We asked for a menu. It took forty minutes to get one. When we left, we asked for help with luggage. It took forty minutes for someone to come, leaving time very tight to catch our plane. My mother was being bitten by mosquitos that came out around the pool at sunset. We asked if the hotel had any mosquito spray. They said they didn't. There was nowhere on the premises that sold any. We had to drive into town to get some. (Luckily we had a car) I feel sure the hotel did have some mosquito spray somewhere, but if none of the staff know about it, then it doesn't really help. I know it's a problem for all seaside hotels, but it was a little irritating to head out to the pool or beachside area and find that other guests had 'booked' all the sunbeds and chairs with their towels and belongings, so there were none left. On one day, there was simply nowhere, the staff couldn't find anywhere, so we had to go out of the hotel to find another beach. The staff struggle at breakfast. No tea, really? And no decaf coffee. I wouldn't say that the property is aging - more like classic - it's actually a great resort, with lovely gardens, and the pools are all good. One point - it's a large resort, and the way it is laid out, you can walk for quite a long way to get from your room to the lobby or pool. Fine if you're young and healthy. If you are expecting a fun resort, with a lot of families, service a bit rough-and-ready, then this won't disappoint. If you're expecting a luxury, five-star experience, you may find it lacking.

Fabulous family hotel

This hotel is in a great quiet location right on the beach. We stayed in a Dulux Pool Suite which was a great novelty which we enjoyed. The pool was very clean and well maintained. Its outdoor pool area is stunning. We enjoyed half board, the breakfast was plentiful and catered for all nationalities. The lunch and dinner food menus could be more diverse especially with more traditional Thai options. Beautiful outdoor eating areas. Although expensive the spa facilities were very good. We would recommend family Thai boxing session with Toon and children’s lessons with Pat. Both instructors were fun, energetic and knowledgeable. It was a safe haven for our children who enjoyed a good deal of freedom exploring the lazy river, jumping in pool/slides and rest of the pools. All the staff were very friendly and polite. While we agree that some updating and maintenance is still outstanding however this did not bother us because the positive aspects of the hotel out weighed it. We would definitely stay here again.

Worst hotel I've stayed in for quite some time.

This hotel is miles away from a 5 star. Rooms are dated, dirty and tired. Balcony was full of rusty dangerous poles hanging loosely from the ceiling. Breakfast is 2 star standard, most of it was inedible so we skipped it as even the coffee was dreadful. Staff are rude and clearly unhappy working there. Stay away from this hotel. We booked for 8 nights and left after 2.
