The temperature was fine with windows open and fans on. However, the roosters crock starting at 3:30 AM and it's hard to get a restful night of sleep. And other building's AC noise bothered me as well. Also, the kids have to go through parents' room to go to the bathroom.

We had an amazing time at Ka Eo Kai. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The unit was spacious and clean. We initially thought the lack of AC would be a problem, but the nights in Princeville were very cool and comfortable. The roosters got us up at 4:30 every morning, but hey… it’s Kauai!

We stayed in unit 5A from June 12-19. Upon check-in at 10:15 pm we were checked in by the security man (who was very nice by the way) after check-in he rushed out to our vehicle where we were unpacking our car and said there was a mix up with another lady's reservation and that we also need to wait in the lobby until management reviewed the issue - like maybe they were going to give her our room that we just checked into. Now keep in mind that we had just traveled from Springfield Missouri to Kauai so it was 3:45 am in our time so we were exhausted sitting in this lobby waiting for a manager to call back - NOT A GOOD START TO THE TRIP! THEN on the second day there we had a note clipped to our door stating that resort maintenance would take place the REST OF OUR STAY on the gutters. This in itself was not a big deal - we thought to ourselves that how long could it take to do the gutters on our unit - maybe a day... then they would be on to other units... BUT NOOOOO! ... EVERY DAY the gutter company parked their truck and trailer right outside our unit (like right outside the master bedroom), set their tools right outside their truck and were cutting metal gutters ALL DAY LONG right there. Yes, the work was between 9am and 4pm, but our routine each day is to get up early (time difference makes us naturally wake up early) do something fun then come back to our room to rest in the middle of the day then back out for another trek to a beach and early dinner. I swear every time I put my head on the pillow in the master bedroom (with louvered windows) I would wake up to a loud ZING, ZING, ZING of the saw cutting gutters or their lift machine running around our room, or pinging on metal gutter nails, or workers sitting on OUR Veranda. There were orange cones placed in the parking spots outside OUR ROOM ONLY all week so the gutter workers truck and trailer could park there and our unit was the main access point for the equipment, cutting, workers, etc... this was ABSOLUTELY NOT FAIR TO US. I'm not hating on these workers because they were just doing the job that they were contracted to do, but I am VERY disappointed in Wyndham for putting us in this situation for the whole week. This was a once in a lifetime vacation for us that we spent thousands of dollars on and for Wyndham to pin a note to our door and just say - "Oh we hope you understand - it's maintenance" is very unprofessional for a leader in the service industry - we expected better than this.

Stayed here for about a month visiting family in Kauai during the pandemic. Cannot say enough positive things about the property. My 2br unit was spacious, comfortable and immaculately clean. The staff was genuinely warm and wonderful. Most importantly their Covid protocols were second to none. Cannot recommend this property strongly enough and believe it is underrated at 3.5 stars and exceptional value as well.

This resort offers a quiet retreat from the typical resort feel. We rarely saw people on property. Good couples hotel. The pool was reservation only which reduced traffic. Ocean waves, the pond fountain and CHICKENS are the only sounds you hear. Be prepared to hear them before sunup! Parking was a easy, check in was unorganized and painful. But as long as you don’t need to bother the staff you will enjoy your piece of paradise. Taylor is the exception -super resourceful. Pack light. It’s a long way up to the third floor. Once you get there the high wood ceiling make it worth your sweat. The appliances are old and scary to use butttttt it’s paradise so we made it work. Bring your own food and entertainment. The nearby restaurants fill too fast considering its covid season. Expect old charm. You won’t be disappointed.
