Amazing place!
Fantastic! We had our wedding reception here which during a pandemic is no small feat. Trevor made our experience wonderful, from the decorations to the food and service, everyone said how wonderful the afternoon/evening was. Sian was brilliant when it came to helping us get organised. Overall it went seamlessly and the food was wonderful. We also stayed in the wedding suite which was beautiful. Thank you to all of you at the Blazing Donkey from the both of us. You made our wedding day even more special.
What a gem!
Had a wonderful stay at this lovely hotel perfectly located for access to the bestiful towns of East Kent and beyond. My large room housed the most comfortable superking bed I have ever slept in in a hotel, and I have slept in many all over the world. Fantastic shower and all spotlessly clean (thanks Julie). Tea and coffee provided and then easy access to the lively, cosy dining area. The best breakfast menu I have seen in a hotel of this type differing pancakes to avocado on toast. Where possible local produce used. A fiery log burner welcomes you this lovely cosy space as does a huge smile and greeting from Chris and Trefor who not only serve you breakfast but an interesting conversation too if you wasn't one. Intend to return soon. Excellent was sorry to leave.
Fantastic experience
We stayed on Monday night. The room was comfortable and clean. The food was truly amazing, every course absolutely delicious and beautifully presented, like in a top quality restaurant. The wine was also very good. All this, including an amazing and equally delicious breakfast for only £105 for the pair of us. Needless to say, we'll be back soon. Highly recommended.
Lovely stay
A little gem! Dinner was outstanding as was breakfast. The room was comfortable and the bathroom exceptionally clean and modern. Trevor and John were great hosts and good company when relaxing on the sumptuous sofa by the woodburner in the bar area. Our dog loved his chew that John gave him! Absolutely recommend. We only live four miles away but went to get a break from home life and we felt fully relaxed after one night away. We will certainly come back to stay Sarah and Malcolm
Exemplary
From the moment we arrived at the blazing Donkey in ham we will make take to feel very welcome by John the general manager. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We spent the afternoon sitting in front of the log burner in the bar area on the exceptionally comfortable sofas. The evening meal was outstanding and the staff were attentive and polite. Trefor the deputy manager was delightful and engaging.The chef greeted us at the end of the evening with a palette cleanser which was a welcomed touch. We felt very safe in their hands and covid guidelines were adhered to at all times. After a comfortable night's sleep our expectation were exceeded once again with an amazing breakfast. If you are thinking of a place to stay where you can relax in comfort with excellent service and exceptional food then go to the blazing donkey you will not be disappointed.
