Great service good choice of food throughout the stay .All the staff were professional and extremely well trained and friendly. The location overlooking the Borrowdale valley and the village of Grange is one of the reasons we return to this place
Another delightful break

My wife and I have just returned from another delightful 3-night break at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel where it is impossible to fault anything. From the first greeting to the final goodbye all of the staff are welcoming, helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable and maintained spotlessly. The views wonderful, the surroundings are perfect and the food absolutely delicious. We can think of no other hotel that we would want to return to time and time again.
An excellent venue

Excellent service and superb cuisine in a relaxed and beautiful location. Extremely comfortable and welcoming. The area provides unlimited options for sightseeing, walking etc. in the immediate vicinity and further afield.

Been returning here at various times for 22 years now. The staff are absolutely fantastic, the varied meals a joy to eat, and the rooms entirely adequate (given that one is probably going to be out and about or admiring the surrounding view from the lounge area anyway). It is just a very pleasant experience in a beautiful part of the country. Stayed on this occasion for New Year. Disappointed that a few residents didn't try and observe the 'smart casual' dress code, particularly at evening dinner on New Years Eve and Day. T-shirt, jeans and trainers or a hoodie just doesn't cut the mustard when other guests and staff are respectful of the standards this outstanding hotel deserves.
