Quaint & Comfortable
Had a great weekend stay at Drift Hotel. We stayed in a king room with a kitchenette. Room was clean, comfortable, and no more/no less than we needed for our stay. We appreciated having a mini fridge to keep drinks cold. Water pressure was great in the shower! Drift has a great system in place to limit contact with guests and keep everyone safe. You place items you want replaced in a plastic bin and leave it outside your door each morning. They've made a form to request additional soap, TP, etc that you leave in the box as well. Easy for you, easy for them. Tips for travelers: The office closes early. Be sure to give them a call to arrange for after hours check in if arriving late. We were unaware of this and I greatly appreciate that they reached out to me to make arrangements. It super easy to access the lock box and obtain our room key when we arrived. Be aware there is limited counter space in the bathrooms. If you're a northerner like me with sinus issues, you'll want to bring your own tissues or handkerchiefs unless you can make do with toilet paper.
Quaint, simple, pleasant
Simple hotel. The free use of kayaks and bicycles is nice. Rent a bike and ride to the end of the next street over for an incredible beach spot (not well known about). Sit on the doc and watch schools of fish swim underneath you. The only issue I had at this hotel was noise...avoid rooms with an adjoining door if possible because you can hear absolutely everything. There is also no microwave in the room. Snappers restaurant is across the road (less than a mile) and is on the water (east side). Iguanas in the trees. Good hotel if you are okay with simple amenities.
Nice stay with a couple little things........
We enjoyed the Drift Hotel very much. Our room was very clean and comfortable, though it was a little small. I think we were in number 11 if memory serves. There is a nice pier to sit and watch boaters, and the grounds are well kept. I believe they have bicycles to use but we were only there one night so we didn't take advantage of that. Another traveler here noted that there was no place to put luggage. This was true in our room. There were no luggage racks so we put our suitcases on the floor. I guess I didn't think about asking for a luggage rack but I noted the manager said they have extras. Maybe just put them in the rooms? Our room had a small refrigerator which was nice and a small table and chairs. Bathroom was updated. The only real problem we had was that the couple in the room next to us were very noisy with their "private activities," if you know what I mean--the walls are very thin. It seemed we were almost in the same room with that couple, which was disturbing. They do have a very serious quiet policy though with a $250 fine for any loud noise that interferes with other guests. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.
Short Stay Hotel
We stayed 2 nights on our way from Key West going back to our flight in Miami. Waterfront was beautiful. Staff was friendly. Rooms were small but clean. There was alot of noise in between rooms and from the office that was next to our room.
Road Trip Stay
We stayed here One night as we were touring the Keys. What a Gem of a motel. Clean, Quiet, Nice staff, Convenient location and Great private beach!!! No frills but this place was just right for two travelers for one night. Facility offered kayak gear and access to private, quiet beach area. This location is close to breakfast and many Top rated dinner facilities. Definitely try Hobo's Cafe!!!!!!!!!
