Poor Stay
I stayed here because it was on the beach and is pet friendly. Does have a nice beach. Wish I could have seen it from my room. Instead I got the view of the backside of a building littered with construction material. The hallway outside my room was covered up with housekeeping buggies. Very disappointing for a $252.00 a night room. Very tired property. 2 star for 4 star price. Did have a very good grab and go breakfast.

Most oceanfront hotels where we have stayed listed their OCEANFRONT ROOMS as Oceanfront Rooms!!! I THOUGHT I was reserving an oceanfront room. Upon check-in on April 21, 2021, the nice young lady at the front desk explained to me their hotel lists it differently. IF we wanted a REAL OCEANFRONT ROOM, it would cost us an extra $40 PER NIGHT and it THEY LIST IT AS OCEANVIEW!!!! Okay, another $80 our senior budget had not expected. The hotel is going through some sort of refurbishment which it truly needs. However, I think our Room 409, could need some RE-refurbishments! The paint job is absolutely HORRIBLE! Wish I had taken photos of the paint job of the door to the balcony and the huge area behind my double bed that was completely missed. Housekeeping between guests???? We did not expect any housekeeping due to COVID, BUT, HOLY COW!!!! I had a pair of white tennis socks that I wore as my slippers while in the room. After only two nights the bottoms were totally black. No amount of bleach would help so I threw them into the trash can. There was a piece of candy or cereal behind the surge protector that looked to have been there quite a while. The piece of furniture that held the big screen t.v. had not seen a dust cloth in a very long time.; same goes for the nightstand. The bathroom is tiny and dark. The new refurbishment has helped some, but the vanity needs some repair work done at the bottom. Since we were on the top floor, it took 12 minutes for the water in the bath/shower to even get warm, let alone hot. It was this way both nights. The pillows were like pancakes after placing my head on them. My husband said the same thing about his pillows. Wish we had brought our own. The mattresses were old and the mattress pad seemed to want to wad up beneath the bottom sheet. The two tables and chair need to be tightened up in the worst way; almost a hazard. All three pieces of furniture were wobbly. To sum it up: Employees nice. Excellent proximity to the beach. However, our room was dirty and dusty. I truly doubt we would ever stay here again even though we are Choice members. Someone needs to really teach housekeeping HOW to clean a room. Oh! Don't get me started on the Elevator usage..........Get on the elevator on the Ground Floor. Go to another floor and get off, then catch another elevator to get up to 4th floor. Not fun after a day of touring.
Gorgeous Property, Amazing staff!
I am absolutely in love with this hotel, the rooms and property were clean and secure with an amazing view of the ocean..so close you can reach out and touch it. The staff was so very helpful and nice. The breakfast was so nice to have to start out a busy day. As a young Solo female traveling I will stay over and over again, I felt right at home and safe! I will be bringing family and friends back to enjoy this wonderful hotel. You will not be disappointed. Close to lots of Amazing things on obx! Kacie.
Nice accommodations
I stay here every other month for a week at a time for scheduled Dr. appointments. I stay here, I get the same room every time, it’s bottom level for access for dogs which is great! The hotel is comfortable, clean and the staff is extremely helpful. I know when I go back every other month, my room is the same, my bed is comfortable, the dog feels at home, she knows where here bed goes and she enjoys sitting on the outdoor patio. Due to Covid many things aren’t open fully, but I will give a special mention of Charlayne who runs the grab & go breakfast. She goes out of her way to make sure everyone gets what’s available and has offered me her help many times with letting her know what I would like and she would get my bag together for me to pick up. I forgot to mention I am moderately disabled. I can’t stress enough how important management is lucky to have such a dedicated employee. In this time where there’s no hot breakfast, pool is closed and the housekeeping is limited to exchanging out linens if needed. Even with the minor problems created by a virus, I still made the decision to make this my home away from home. You won’t be disappointed.
Older tired property
We stayed here two nights in March when rate was absolute bargain. From what I see now rates are much higher. This is older tired looking property that was getting cosmetic updating. Weird elevator to elevator but right on beach. Pics were view from our room
