More about the hotel
An incredible deal!
This hotel was a great value! Very clean rooms, comfortable beds, great pillows. Air conditioners work great! Fantastic breakfast!!! Super close to tons of stores and restaurants. We were pleased with our stay overall but must mention a couple of issues. We had three rooms for two nights. On our second night the toilet in one of our rooms would not fill, rendering it unflushable. They had no plunger, and the response to the problem was, “all we can do is report it and have maintenance fix it in the morning.” Really? My husband had to go buy a plunger at midnight. Then he gets back and they had borrowed a cheap plunger from the hotel next door. It didn’t work. The one my husband bought did work. We called the next morning to ask for a late checkout because we had a 7 hour drive home and were up super late fixing THEIR TOILET so my family staying in that room wouldn’t be without facilities. (They didn’t even offer to give us another room. Really?) The clerk said she could give a 1 o clock checkout for two of the rooms but NOT all three and argued with my husband even though he explained the toilet fiasco. 😳. I called back a few minutes later and asked if they could not accommodate a 1 o clock checkout... would a noon checkout for all three rooms be possibility? She agreed to that. I have to say from the moment we checked in, it was evident that this woman hated her job. she didn’t want to answer questions, and clearly didn’t want to be there. When I tried calling the desk from the room but got no answer, the next time I went by the front desk, I asked about the message waiting light on the phone in our room. Did she need something from us? Maybe we forgot to sign some paperwork? “The whole phone system is out,” she said. So in order to call the front desk we had to call the main number from our mobile phones. It was confirmed when we left that she did indeed hate her job. she proceeded to tell someone in the lobby that she was DONE with this place... she gets blamed for everything... gets accused of not cleaning up when she does more cleaning than ANYONE... etc. etc. “I want to walk out of here RIGHT NOW” she said. I kinda felt sorry for Theresa, because I’m sure that job isn’t easy... dealing with lots of people’s demands and wants, and having to get along with her co workers... but EVERYONE that deals with people as part of their job has to. We were not asking for unreasonable requests. And we were nothing but kind and polite to her. If you can’t stand your job, you SHOULD leave. You’re not doing Quality Inn any favors by staying. The rest of the staff was super nice! We would stay here again. The bones of a hotel stay are excellent here.
A quality Quality INN
This is a good Quality Inn with easy access to Ft. Hood. Nothing fancy, good value, and of utmost importance, clean!! They passed the Grumpyworm Cleanliness Test with flying colors! Nice assortment for breakfast including some hot (warm) selections. However, the breakfast area is on the small side, featuring only three tables. Although this created no problems during my stay, it seemed a tad small for a facility with over 50 guest rooms. Of course there could be a plus side in that if required to share a table, one might make new friends. And, there might be chances to make some new really good friends if you end up providing lap seating opportunities.
It Was Okay
We stayed here for about a week. While there was definitely nothing fancy about this hotel it was cleaner than the last Choice Hotel we stayed in. We had issues with our phone/clock upon arrival but those were quickly resolved. The room smelled clean and there were always fresh towels restocked and the beds were small, but comfy, and remade when we got back to the room each night. The workout room is super hot and machines were pretty worn, but they did their job. Front desk staff were always helpful. No major issues. I don't know if I'd stay again, but it wasn't bad.
It Was Okay
There's definitely nothing fancy about this hotel, but it was cleaner than the last Choice Hotel we stayed in. We had issues with the phone and clock but they were resolved pretty quickly. The shower head was amazing. Beds were small but comfortable and breakfast was standard. We stayed for a week and the beds were always remade and bathroom restocked with fresh towels when we arrived back The exercise room was very small and machines were pretty worn out. Internet wasn't very dependable. I don't know if I'd stay again, but it wasn't bad.
Very updated and very nice for the price!
I was in Killeen to see some friends for a long weekend. This location is right by most of the big box retail stores and is in pretty close proximity to the mall. I had maybe a couple other guests in the hotel during my stay. It looks to be renovated very recently and has brand new carpets and tile everywhere. I used the washer/dryer and business center and they worked fine. The beds were very comfortable. This place is going to fill up fast once the word gets out it was renovated. Its very nice now and couldn't beat the price the 3 days I stayed there. Great customer service and great hotel! Plenty of parking onsite and behind building. The only negative I would say is that the elevator is very slow. But overall if that's it, definitely not a bad stay at all!
