Close to town, convenient and centrally located
I was here with my wife for a last minute business trip. This is a well located place. It is walking distance to all the essential amenities of Kingscote - food, wine, beach and supplies. The view from our bedroom overlooked the crashing waves of the Ocean. Room was spacious and clean. Internet was free and reliable. When I asked for additional room cleaning and turn down, it was provided promptly with no fuss. I would stay again.
Clean property with lovely hosts and in fantastic location
The view is great - right across the road from the beach. There is a path which leads along the waterfront to the town of Kingscote which is a lovely walk - and very welcome after dinner! The hosts are very keen to make your stay as pleasant as possible and nothing is any trouble. The rooms are spacious and clean with doors out to the ocean side. The bathroom was very clean which was important. You can see that the hosts are trying to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. It was great to be able to park the car right near our room. The restauarant was not operating when we were there but we ate at the Old Mulberry Tree Cafe in town which has amazing Indian food - you need to book though!! Cannot recommend highly enough. They also have very nice staff. Would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation. Thanks for making our trip to Kangaroo Island very special:)
Stunning view and friendly staff
We spent one week at the kangaroo island seaside inn, and were blown away by the stunning views! The room was clean, simple and comfortable. The bed had recently been replaced and was very comfortable; the room had also had a new air conditioning unit installed.
Holiday stay
Staying in Kingscote for 5 nights was the first mistake of our trip to Kangaroo Island. Practically nothing open over the Xmas - NY break. So paying $220 per night for basically a motel room in hindsight was way overpriced. The room was clean and staff were friendly. The bed was hard and pillows were thin. Cups and glasses were not changed or cleaned unless we did it ourself. The windows out to the sea view were filthy. The car park had rubbish floating around. $5 to use a broken washing machine was a bit much and the dryer was also broken. If it cost under $100 per night I probably wouldn’t have even written a review, but at $220 per night for basic services is ridiculous. Only real positive is the shower pressure was amazing.
Bad Deal
This cost us $250 per night. The room was dusty I had to clean it, there was food left in the fridge that I had to take down to the management ( this place was taken over 2 months ago) the fan in the bathroom filthy, no shelf in the shower for toiletries. Beds squeaky & they only catered for one demographic of people. There were noisy groups of people together from Victoria and NSW with children. We needed to complain to the management. They never followed up to see if everything was okay. There was rubbish and old air-conditioning units out the back ......no immensities at all this is a 2 star accomodation
