Good to lay your head but not great for vacation

I visited for one night with my daughters. The reception was warm but that’s where the good ended. The service in the restaurant was super slow. I ate lunch, dinner and breakfast. For lunch and dinner, I was presented with a menu, orders taken and then the waiter came back to say something wasn’t available after some time. Ideally the waiter tells you the things from the menu that aren’t available when they present the menu. For lunch, we were one of two tables in the restaurant yet the whole experience still took two hours. The food was not tasty and the items were pricey. The pool was small but with few guests, we had it to ourselves for part of the time. Towels weren’t stocked. Hotel was clean and located centrally for Kingston exploration. Good for a night’s rest but not for vacation. Also eat outside the hotel.
I would not stay again!!!

The staff seemed bothered if I asked a question or made a request. I asked to have my room cleaned daily; the representative told me I would have to ask daily and pretty much at the crack of dawn or it wouldn’t get done. I did not get up just to make a request to have my room cleaned. I cleaned it myself. I gave dirty towels to the maid and kept a plastic bag to keep my garbage that I took out myself. We were 4 people staying in one room. Myself and three children. I had to beg for additional towels daily. We made a reservation for four people and they left 2 bottles of water for four people. Please make water and towels plentiful. The breakfast was absolutely disgusting, and over priced. We spent about 20 dollars per person and threw it all away after a few bites. The breakfast was supposed to be pancakes, but that was not the way pancakes are supposed to taste. Please improve food selection and quality. The hotel smelled mildewy. The room had an overwhelming sweet room refresher. The hotel is in the need of an update. The hotel could be so much more. The park was lovely. The on-site gym, laundry and pool were nice amenities. Nonetheless they were outdated. I never saw a bartender at the pool bar. There were no expectations set.
Not for vacation

This facility might be ok for a business meeting but certainly not for folks looking for a typical Marriott vacay. Unfriendly staff and ridiculous wait time to eat with no apology. The rooms smell wet and not fresh. The bathrooms can use some deep cleaning and the sofa in the rooms are harsh and far from inviting. The main areas are beautiful but rooms are dark and depressing, I stayed on the highest floor with a balcony that over looked the Emancipation park, and it felt like a sacrifice of some sort. I WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN IF IT WAS THE LAST HOTEL IN KINGSTON
I should have stayed at the Pegasus

Standard Marriott hotel. Food is good but very expensive. Made to feel uncomfortable by a male member of staff. Manager was hopeless at dealing with the situation and "No a bottle of water is not going to make eveything okay". It is questionable as to whether the Covid-19 cleaning protocols are being followed.
A well deserved break from the busy city of Kingston

Ah, the Courtyard Kingston. This is my 3rd time staying here and my first review. I actually love it here. Anyone who has spent a day outside in Kingston, knows how wonderful it feels to get back inside your room to a shower and AC. Kingston is hot, hot, hot but the rooms are nice and cool. When my husband comes to Kingston on business, my son and I always tag along. This isn't what you call a family hotel, it is more business oriented but when everyone is out working during the day, the hotel is pretty much empty. I would take advantage of that, and bring my son to the pool almost every day. We stayed for a week, so this was a daily activity. It was perfect, by the time we were done swimming, people would be heading down to the restaurant patio for dinner. Even though there is a sign that says No Lifegaurd, there is a lifegaurd on duty at all times. The pool and our room overlooked Emancipation Park and you could see the mountains in the distance. We would take evening walks in the park to enjoy the breeze. The hotel is well guarded and you always feel safe. What I love about this hotel, is that there are many food options nearby. We didn't feel like eating at the hotel restaurant everyday, so we just walked up Knutsford Blvd and found something we wanted. Kept the cost down as well. Sometimes you just want a patty or some KFC. There is a jerk spot right beside the hotel, don't go too late or they will run out of food. The hotel room itself was spacious and comfortable. It feels like home. They provide a fridge and complimentary wi-fi. The room is clean and the housekeepers are friendly. They made sure we always had water and fresh towels. My only complaint would be the air quality of the room. Since it is carpeted, I would sneeze alot and my nose would be clogged. Some fresh air or air filters would do the room good. Otherwise, I definitely overlooked that and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Would definitely recommend and will be back again.
