A lovely building with well kept grounds, very close to a main road and with an American style smokehouse restaurant on the same site. Good sized formal rooms and excellent food, the hotel rooms are nice and the place is well kept. The only downside was the price of the bar which was really rather overpriced aside from the 2 for £12 cocktail deal. Breakfast is not served in the hotel and you have to cross the courtyard to the separate smokehouse to get your meal, which sadly was not to the same standard as the food in the evening at the main hotel.
What a fabulous little gem of a hotel.

Set back in a quiet location this us a very well run hotel. The staff are fantastic especially the dining room staff, they are courteous, friendly and very very efficient. The meals were of a very good standard. The hotel is a great base for whitby, sandsend and Saltburn. We'll worth a visit.

I recently visited Dunsley Hall with my partner for a two night stay. From the moment we entered this beautiful establishment we were treated like queens. The owner Wilf and his amazing staff couldn't do enough for us. Our room was beautiful, clean with a lovely view and the food was delicious. I really can't recommend Dunsley Hall enough. We will definitely be back

Stayed here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Three couples and two teenagers and all had a lovely time. Beautiful hotel with staff who made us all feel really welcome. We were checked in by the owner who instantly made us all feel at home and happily accommodated our celebrations! Dinner in Harley's was fantastic, food was great and so was the service. Back to the hotel for drinks and the night porter happily served us until we were ready for bed. Breakfast was in Harley's and can't fault it, everyone really enjoyed it. Thank you for being so accommodating, sorry if we were a bit loud but we all had such a lovely relaxing time and we'll be back soon
Fine building but .,,,,,

We booked 2 rooms and thought both would be traditional style . Turns out one of the allocated rooms was “ modern” and nothing like we expected. However, our welcome was what really concerned us . On arrival there was no welcome just straight into payment followed by what time we needed to vacate . No information about facilities etc. It was the same on departure. Just hand the key in and off you go . This hotel very much lacks customer focus. Breakfast is in a separate place ( Harleys) in the grounds of the hotel. It opens at 9am but you have to vacate the hotel room by 10am so very much a rushed affair . The cost of breakfast is extra and around £13/14 for an English breakfast with drink. The staff at Harleys are fabulous and could teach the hotel staff a lesson in customer service . In conclusion the hotel is a fine and well presented building. It’s let down by it’s staff. I will add the night Porter was charming and friendly. We won’t book again we want more than a nice building when go away for pleasure. We want to feel valued. I suspect their business is more wedding focused and they lack the ability to care for individuals.
