STAY HERE! No Regrets!

Itibo is a treasure in Kisii. During our 4 days here, many rooms, over 10 people on our team, the compliments about the dynamic atmosphere, the savory food, and the great accommodations abound! Rooms clean & secure, beds comfortable, rooms had hit water and some of them a included fans. Cleaning was done daily as well as re-stocking, and the staff was so incredibly accommodating and helpful with organizing quick meals and early breakfast due to leaving the resort earlier than normal for a conference we were hosting. We had a different number of people on the team each night, so different beds, needs, etc; it would have been a challenge for anyone, but at the end, the accounting was accurate! They offered to wash clothes, and carry out additional duties to assist us. It was just a wonderful experience. The owner, Mr. Ruben, even took time to greet us personally, with a very kind and gentle demeanor which made all feel very welcome.

Amazing Oasis

Itibo was a Godsend after our accommodations elsewhere fell through. The owner greated us at breakfast and shared his story of how the Resort came into being, which is inspiring, so ask him. The beds were wonderful, the little hut room adorable. The scenery divine, service outstanding. The water was nice and hot and breakfast was delicious. I highly recommend. Reuben is a wonderful man doing wonderful things in his community.

I cannot say enough about this much needed respite as we did service work in various parts of Kenya. The showers, fed by an underground aquifer and wood fire-heated, are wonderful, the rooms (we stayed in the huts) clean, spacious and comfortable (see pix). The grounds are beautiful and well tended ... I don’t think I’ve ever seen birds of paradise actually growing), and the buffet breakfasts were yummy! Above all, the staff was warm and welcoming...the Kenyans seem to excel at this...and even did a beer run for us! Will come back

Fantastic staff

Stopped over here on our way to the Serengeti, lovely little place. The staff are all so friendly and provide great service. Met the owner and he was lovely and looked after us. There is no bar here but the staff arranged for some to be delivered for us from the town. The only downfall was the meal availability on the menu but considering its going into low season and there are only about 6 guests here that is understandable. We pre-ordered our lunch for the next day so that they could have the right things available.

Lovely resort in a quiet area

Our group of a dozen intrepid travelers pulled into Itibo Resort hoping for warm showers and good food. The resort and the staff did not disappoint us. The resort is not far off the main road but the resort itself is very quiet except for the occasional animal noises. I stayed in one of the round rooms with a single queen-sized bed. The bathroom was clean and spacious with nice views out the windows. If I have one suggestion it would be curtains for the bathroom windows. The main room is actually half the circle so there is ample room on each side of the bed. The hot water is actually hot and lasts all the way through the shower. Wifi is available throughout the resort. The staff is very friendly and was willing to prepare specific foods from their menu to be ready for our evening meal when we returned each day. We usually did buffet-style meals but one night they took individual orders and had the food ready when we returned. The menu is varied with traditional Kenyan cooking dominating the choices. The resort has a couple of gathering gazebos where our group could meet in addition to the dining area. I would recommend this resort to any travelers visiting the area.
