A Little Old but still ok
The hotel is a little old. Not sure why the vacated the ground floor which was the lobby and moved to the 1st floor. Hope it is some renovation plan. Generally the hotel is still ok. Staffs were friendly. It is located near Sannomiya station so that is good. They also include a simple breakfast which was good at that price.
Black mould everywhere
The outside of the building seems nice but looks are deceiving. Ground floor is big but there is nothing, the reception is on the second floor. The staff was friendly but only to our face and they can't be bothered. The room is disgusting, we had room nr 513 and the fridge was mouldy all over, not safe to leave anything in it. Carpet was old, dirty and full of stains, same goes for the curtains. Wallpaper is stained from a water leak and years of smoking and it has a relief motive that is filled with dust. AC unit is dusty, old and filled with mould. Bathroom was even worse with black mould covering it from floor to ceiling, touching the shower curtain is a health hazard. Our toilet was cracked and wobbly. The bed itself is horrible, it is an old matress with worn out, metal springs in them that give you no support and only stab you in the back. We were so disgusted by the room that we demanded another one for the next night and got nr 415. It was a bit cleaner but still same matress, dirty and mouldy fridge and bathroom. The shower curtain was "clean". Breakfast is a laugh, the whole area is again dirty, you stick to the table and chairs. They offer Japanese breakfast but very poor quality, the only non asian thing to eat are stale croissants or bread which you can toast on a disgusting little oven. It is not worth your health to stay here. Pay more or look for a hostel because those are cleaner Do not book!!!!!!
The hotel is filthy. Period. The 1F is full of stained carpet. The ceiling has had aome leakage issues, which they haven't seen fit to fix, so mouldy. The lobby is clean, but that's about it. The plates at breakfast were full of dust and debris. You only have stale bread and croissants an alternative to Japanese breakfast, which is below par as well. The bathroom is more black than anything else with mould. The shower curtain is covered in it. The ceiling, the walls, everything. The walls in the room are embossed with dust. You can see it move with the airconditioning airflow, which is of course mouldy. The carpet in the room is disgusting, stained in all kinds of colours. The bed has no padding to speak of, you lie directly on the springs. The controls for the airconditioning are 80's radio-style nobs set in a faux-wooden cabinet. We changed rooms the second day. More of the same. DO NOT STAY HERE.
It is okay
For a 3 star hotel it is pretty old, dirty and the reception desk is on the 2nd floor with no one on the 1st floor. The cleaning lady was the nicest staff. She was the one who told us and got the elevator for us as well as pointed tot he small sign they had. The front desk is really filled with people that are either tired or dont care. Either way only 1 person there which I think is the manager actually seemed to show an interest. Everyone else just asked for us to pay the money up front and were very unwelcoming. The baggage as well needs to be held due to check in at 3pm however we had to ask 3 times before they did anything since they wanted the money now of course. Bathrooms in the lobby is also very dirty are near the worst in Japan so far which is surprising. The room is really old. It is a little dusty and to be honest I am offended I got tea but no water bottles. I have gotten them in every hotel in Japan so far except this one. Air conditioning is also fair but was complicated to find. There is an out of order sign on the bed stand and it looks like and radio and clock but apparently that's the air conditioning and it is working. The night staff are more friendly than the day staff for sure but I still think for the price and stars it isnt worth it. Also more or a suggestion but if you are taller than 6ft 2inches the bath wont fit you standing. My hair was in the air vent and I tilted my head. The bed after sleeping in it was pretty good so it is fine I guess.
Good Japanese breakfast spread
This hotel have good Japanese breakfast spread. Finding this hotel is very difficult if you don’t speak Japanese. One Japanese says go straight and turn with hand motion. When you get there you are lost. Then you have to track your way back to the train station. Then you ask again and they nodded their heads with hand motion, you go again and you are lost once again. It’s no joke pulling your suitcases back and forth in the crowded street , it’s evening now. After 5 attempts asking the locals, I decided to stay put and let my husband asked around. He came back after 45 minutes. There we go again dragging our suitcases, we turn here and there and walk and walk, finally we found it.! We have prepared and read the trip advisors comment and they said 10 minutes away, don’t believe them. Get a taxi ! Taxi is not really expensive, it’s pretty reasonable. Hotel room was small , staff very friendly But the breakfast makes me forget last night walking.😁
