The Hermes hotel sits a short but steep walk up from the beach, tavernas, and bars of Kamari Bay. The views from the bar verandah across the Bay are fabulous and there us nothing better than enjoying them with a glass beer or wine before walking down to the tavernas for a great meal. Diana and Sebastien are great hosts - nothing is too much trouble. We have been coming here over some 20 years. Both Kefalos/Kamari and The Hermes are our places of forst choice.

We loved our time here. People's individual fitness depends if the hill is ok or not obviously , I would say it only gets steepish for the last 100mts or so. Then again this makes the views awesome. If you leave the hotel and go left at the church off the main road ,to the supermarket and right you avoid the traffic too. Breakfast could have had a bit of change but for us it did the job as we had lunch by the pool or a gyros at manos. The guys at the pool bar were great and looked after us well. That goes for everyone who worked there too. Thanks and hopefully we will return

Yes rooms clean ,bedding and towels changed daily except for Sunday. The pool area is very nice,new sun beds by the look which were comfortable and the snack area very good. As has been said about a 15 or 20 minute walk to the beach depending how fast you walk and it’s a busy road with no pavements so be aware..quite a few eating places which were all pretty good.. As has also been said it’s pretty hilly especially if you go up to Kefalos and there are no taxis locally as they have to come from the airport apparently..also no kettles in room which was a bit odd. If there was one downside the breakfast was sparse at best,ham cheese,tomato and toast, sometimes a boiled egg and that’s about it really.. It’s a quiet resort which I liked and had a really relaxed time.. So on the whole a pretty decent place which I think you will like. Would I go back, probably not as there are so many islands and hotels Greece has to offer that you can try a different one every year…..

Hotel situated up a hill from the beach and no safe pavement to walk on especially in the evenings. Rooms basic but clean, towels changed daily. Note: no kettle in the room but you can hire one from reception. Small fridge in the room which was handy. Pool nice, plenty of sun beds and pool bar served fresh hot and cold snacks. Air con had a daily charge as did the safe. Staff friendly and helpful. Only real complaint was the very basic breakfast. A few days there were boiled eggs but mainly just toast, cheese, spam, strawberry mousse and cereal. Would have been lovely to have some Greek yoghurt with fruit like most other places we have stayed. Beaches mainly shingle and in my view not very clean. Some lovely restaurants on the beach front. Don’t think I would return here.

Thus place is great value. The place is spotless and well maintained. The pool is great, nice and big with plenty of sun beds. The pool bar is fantastic and the food served there during the day is superb. No need to leave the pool area all day, just lie there and enjoy the sun. There are a few stairs but so what, it’s on a hillside so what do you expect. It located ideally for a stroll down to the beaches, supermarkets and tavernas or up to the old Kefalos town. The rooms are basic but have all you need, are clean and well presented. Can’t fault the place.
