The most charming hotel at the Maeklong River
Opinión escrita el 4 de Octubre de 2019
The hotel is located on the Maeklong river in the charming Ampawa district and it has both garden rooms (bungalows) in a very tropical setting and also some rooms with river view. Go for the river view rooms as they offer you the most fantastic view at a small extra cost.
The hotel is probably more aimed at conferences and large celebrations than at individual tourists but the location makes up for this feeling.
Rooms are very clean and in order and the basic amenitites like soap, shampoo and drinking water are available. The breakfast is okay but everything from fried eggs to noodles were cold when we were there. The breakfast room is nothing special but you can take your breakfast to the restaurant by the river.
The restaurant has a very large menu and the food we had was tasty and fresh.
You can rent a bicycle at the hotel and the roads in the Ampawa area are pretty safe to drive - at least compared to other places in Thailand. In the morning at 6.00 to 6.30, the monks from the nearby temple come by boat to get food at the hotel pier. You can buy a tray of food from the hotel and offer food yourself - around 100 baht. A very peaceful and nice moment in a hectic world which can be seen from the balcony of the river rooms.
We really recommend this hotel for the fantastic location, clean rooms and very nice staff.

We are budget travellers with 2 kids (3&5) in tow. On this trip we also had 3 adults and booked 2 bungalows. There was a bit of a snafu and only one room was ready when we arrived at 5 PM, but it was quickly remedied. Overall, we would highly recommend this hotel as it met 3 of my 4 requirements with plenty of extras.
The bed was comfortable, the shower was hot, and the room was quiet (despite a loud concert up the street). However, it was not dark at night due to the driveway lights. There were regular curtains on the windows so the light shone through and around the curtains. Next time, we would bring our blackout panels if travelling with the boys or eye masks if travelling solo.
The grounds are peaceful. There was a lot for the kids to do and see from the gardens, feeding fish, swings, and pool to watching boats on the river. The property is riverfront and the dock provides a panoramic sunset.
The included breakfast was substantial providing a few western options (eggs, toast, sausage, cereal) with plenty of local choices. Probably the best hotel breakfast we have had at a hotel in this price range in Thailand.
It is less than 5 minutes to Amphawa Floating Market and the evening firefly boat tours. About 15 minutes to both Tha Kha floating market and Wat Bang Kung, although the market and temple are in opposite directions. Dameon Sudak floating market and Mekong Railway Market are also nearby, making this a peaceful spot from which to explore the markets.
Nice and relax place

We took Thai Message, it is very good although a little bit hurt :)
The room is very nice, clean and comfort, we booked for 4 rooms.
The standard room didn't have double room, all of 4 is twin room.
Breakfast is ok, the staff is very nice.
Hope to back there again.
A vert traditional Thai retreat

My wife and I stayed here for only 3 nights - wish it had been more. The resort is set overlooking the river and every morning is visited on a canoe by Buddhist Monks, where there is a riverside ritual and they are presented with food a very spiritual moment we felt. If you can stretch the extra few Baht then ask for a room with a river view - a must have.
The rooms and for are very much aimed at the Thai market not quiet the finesse europeans might expect but we felt it wa very much in keeping with he vibe there. The restaurant serves exquisite food at very reasonable rates- take car though the bar shuts at 21:00. That said this is not a venue to go to for drinking but for quiet rest. They offer an excellent stained glass window 3 day course with expert tuition - which is well worth undertaking when you are there.
There is also the local river market and firefly trip as well as the unbelievable Maeklong railway market an absolute must.
'M' is a very good host but aside from him be aware most staff do not speak English. We found this more exciting but worth being aware of. Can't wait to return later this year.
Accomadation, service and breakfast are poor and needed to be refurbished.

Staff do not speak in English.
We’ve booked a room for thee and they offer us to dress a bed on the floor.
Breakfast is just the worst we had in all our trip.
Leader never show up when we asked to see him.
Will never come back in this place.
