This was my absolute favourite place to stay over my 3 week long japan holiday. There are just so many fantastic things about this accomodation and the little things that make the difference. The staff are friendly and accommodating, the grounds are beautiful with many places to sit and relax, including the hotel grounds across the road for a quieter experience. Access to free flavoured iced tea, coffee machine, water and my favourite hot chocolate to die for! Let alone the free nightly drink (cocktails, mocktails, spirits) of fantastic quality, a great way to wind down after a busy day. The onsen is lovely and the salt bath also wonderful, they have a very clean and well equipped female change rooms with multiple different shampoos and conditions to choose from, hairdryer, lockers, single use hairbrushes and hair ties. Breakfast is very well catered for with something for everyone, all of very high quality. The rooms were very clean and well set our and definitely make use of their pajamas/lounge wear - I regret not buying some when I left! Thank you for the unforgettable stay.

Perfect location to explore. Great hotel

This review is to share an experience from May 2018. The hotel was in such a perfect location to access Kyoto Station, 3 minute walk depending on cross walk lights. We checked in late with no issues. Room was perfectly clean and comfortable. My husband loved the pajamas the had for us, although at 6ft 1in the pants were a little short on him. :-) Breakfast in the restaurant onsite was very good and the coffee machines produced the most heavenly brews. We loved the open air design of the hotel with the courtyard type space in the middle. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Kyoto.

Loved this “boutique” hotel. Very local decor. Unique. Comfortable. Charming but trendy! Enjoyed our stay. Open air lobby, with comfortable seating and fire pits. Welcome cocktail provided each night of stay. Close to subway.

The reception was top notch and the staff was always available to help us. The restaurant was very good; both the food and the staff. During the evening they had jazz music which we quite enjoyed. The hotel has a courtyard type area with seating to enjoy a drink and fresh air. And it couldn't be more convenient to the train station.

Great location just a 3 min walk from Kyoto Station, Shinkansen end. Good sized clean room with a small balcony which had a table & 2 chairs. Free laundry facilities & soap detergent is supplied. Lovely area to have drinks in the evening, complimentary drink options included beer, wine or cocktail, nice to have a mulled wine & sit in front of the fire pit during a cold Feb night! Restaurant on site & although we didn't eat there during our stay we did have a nightcap there after visiting Gion. We would stay again.
