Highly recommended
Great place! Awesome food and the attention is priceless. We did tubbing and it was fantastic. The staff also worries that you are having a great time. We are from CR and we have never visit a place as gorgeous as this one!
Outstanding experience
If you love nature, this is your hotel. The nearest beach is hundreds of miles away, you´ll enjoy of a natural forest, thermal rivers, swimming pools with thermal water, it´s the perfect place in order to get disconnected from the world for a few days (they have free WiFi also) The food is delicious, the staff is really friendly, I felt safe and sound every single minute. You can do trekking here, but at night is not recommended, you can get lost easily, they have expert guide that can help you if you love star gazing, there are a couple of perfect places for it, but you´ll need a guide with you.
We Love this Place!
We absolutely love Rio Perdido. We visited on a day trip during our first visit to Costa Rica and opted to stay for a night this time. The bungalows are very nice and clean with lovely porches. The wifi is very strong. The staff was wonderful and COVID protocol was great - everyone had masks on and cleaning procedures were great. All dining options are outdoors, which was great. The thermal river and hotel pools are wonderful! We wished we could have stayed longer!
Perfect Place to Unwind and enjoy Costa Rica’s Beautiful Nature
Staying in RP is an experience that will make you feel immersed in the wilderness, but with all the comfort and the most friendly and accommodating staff that will get you as relaxed as it gets. We stayed 3 nights in one of the Center Bungalows and we loved it. The architecture and details of the room are amazing; the dark interior drives your attention to the nature out of the door-to-ceiling windows. The outdoor showers will make you feel like you are in a waterfall. Sit down on the terrace and you are in for a treat, you’ll get to see a very diverse fauna. We had an Agouti (google it) visiting us every day. The thermal river is amazing, I was expecting a strong sulfur smell but I could barely notice it. They have volcanic mud for you to spread it on your body, but this one did have a strong odor which is not for me so I decided to skip it. We went white water tubbing, ziplining and hiking and I’d strongly recommend you do it as well (specially the zip line). The staff will make sure you have a fun time and feel save all the time. We tried the massages at the spa and I guarantee you that if you do it and then jump in one of the thermal pools you will forget all your problems. The hotel is very secluded and apart from civilization, so if you need anything in particular with you, I recommend you bring it in advance, the closest town is at a 20 min drive. Plus, once you are in the hotel you will not want to leave. I also recommend you to fly into Liberia airport which is 1hr away from the hotel. Cellphone reception is not good here, but they have a very good wifi service. The only downside of this place is that it will make you question the place you are living.
A Wonderful Adventure in Paradise
This review comes from the perspective of a Canadian senior lady (78 years young). I really must start by saying “it is good people that make good places”. The RP staff were outstanding. Kind, caring and considerate. Impeccable manners, friendliness, enthusiastic and respectful. Kudos to the Ticos. They are without a doubt the nicest people on the planet. Rio Perdido is a beautiful place. - delightful thermal pools - excellent for the old bones. - adventurous activities, - incredible bungalows with the very latest amenities - the most important to me were the hot showers, good lighting, crisp cotton sheets, coffee, refrigerator and wifi. - all the amenities that one would expect in a 5 star tourist destination. Thank you Rio Perdido for another wonderful adventure in paradise. Sincerely Donna Colangelo
